There's one for numeracy, but set at too high a level for him, he wouldnt understand the work apparently.
He'll never be an academic type child, but this weeks results are really awful so far. The thought of him ending up in a low set at High School is just  :eek:Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

Tunics are one of the styles I can just about get away with as long as they are very 'square' shaped.
Oh well.......it can become a cookery class top. I wear an apron over my clothing so it won't be seen."Stay Wonky":D

But sometimes being in the lower set can bring out an ability which would be buried by work that 'appeared' to be too hard.
DS was carp at Maths until I showed him the 'old' way of long multiplication...the answer was about 13billion, made up of 30 or so small sums, once he had done that, he lost a lot of his fear.
( This fear was initiated by idiot 'teacher' trying to teach them FACTORING at 9 yrs....stupid cow!:D stay wonky

noooooooo, I couldn't wear it out - I'd feel even more fuddy duddy than I do anyway!!! I like blinging tops, but ones which have writing or a 'picture' on, just not 1983 style random patterns around the bottom.........I've obviously seen some OAP's wear them at some point in my formative years and the image has stuck! :rotfl:
(and, i'm still only a maybe for Manc)

I had an appalling set of maths exam results in my first year of senior school and was moved into the "bottom set". This was brilliant for me though, as the teacher explained everything in a way we could actually understand for once as she wasn't having to teach 'en masse' (ie.keeping a class of different abilities interested). At the end of my second year I got my highest ever maths result and I know it was because we were taught at a slower pace. We covered the same syllabus as the higher groups.
It might be what he needs. Have you considered a private tutor?
BTW - I ended up passing my Maths O level so it can be done.YOUR = belonging to you (your coat); YOU'RE = you are (I hope you're ok)
really....it's not hard to understand :T0 -

Ok download some stuff off the net. He may well be feeling down after his results this week so give him a break for the moment. Re school, they shouldn't be just aiming for the level 5's and should be boosting everyone who needs it, get hold of every past paper you can and they are really easy to sort out and it may just be tiny things he is missing out like two step problems or tiny mistakes like missing an = sign. They will mark down for things like that even missing decimal points out, if he gets the correct answer and misses them out they will mark it as incorrect.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0
