I used Bio oil on a scar resulting from abdominal surgery - worked great for me.

You can get some stuff in Boots called Boots Expert Scar Serum, it's not very expensive and is usually on 3 for 2. I've been using it on my leg and seen a big improvement to the scar. You have to use it regularly. HTH.

    MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to the Health and Beauty board, where it should get more replies. • Hi

Ive recently been reading about a device called a derma roller...lots of information if you google it. I havent had personal use from one but feedback appears to be good. Trouble is its not very money saving at all and resembles a torture device.

    Hi there
I've read through this thread and wondered if anyone has been using the products recommended and had any success?
I have a large keloid scar on my stomach - so not visible. I'd ignore it apart from the constant and intense itching and burning. Been to see doc who referred me to a specialist but to be honest he was planning to inject something or other into it "in the hope" that it would reduce it. I've had keloid scars all my life so I know that injections/scapels CAUSED my keloids and I may very well have ended up with a bigger one!

He did suggest laser treatment but i believe this is a relatively new area (anyone been down this route)??

Can anyone suggest anything please as its driving me to distraction.

    Thanks
    Blankie.

Not in the least bit moneysaving but have a look at:

I'd love a bit of BBL!

I used Bio Oil, after I had chicken pox a two years ago.
I know its quite expensive... £10 for a small bottle
However, I did buy the large size bottle, then, which was £20, which was much better value for money. I still have approx a third of the bottle left.
I used it then, twice a day ..... with great success, and have no scars from the chicken pox.
    I use it approx 6 - 10 times a month now, as a face/neck massager.
It really does smooth the skin.

Recently I was in Poundland... and they had a small bottle, cheaper looking version of Bio Oil.
I don't know how good it would be, but, it might be worth a try, for a quid.

I am not sure if Bio Oil, or any substitute would be useful for keloid scars

    Hi there
I know i'm resurrecting an old thread but I just wanted to let people know that I have been using bio oil since these posts in April 09. It does relieve the itching/burning as mentioned by 'blankie' above which is a blessing but I just wondered if anyone has had anything else done to their keloid scars (ie laser treatment) that they would recommend.
    Thanks
