Is this worth anything?

I'd tend to agree with most of what's been said so far: it's probably worth more than you paid for it but less than the price of a comparable new chair. Since I'm more a conservationist than a restorer I'd be inclined to put a removable cover on it rather than alter the original chair, but that's a matter of personal preference and unless you're really rubbish at furniture restoration will make little difference to its value.0

Thats gorgeous. I'd like that white with blue gingham material for the seat

White? I think that would ruin it. I much prefer the look of unpainted wood. If I see white painted furniture I tend to suspect that it's just cheap wood or even chipboard underneath, though from the picture I think this chair is artificially coloured wood anyway not real mahogany. Even so, painting it might diminish its already modest value, but to each their own I suppose.0

Thanks Ceebeeby and Wicked-witch. The dolls house is from Country Baskets in Leeds for £90. They are much more expensive at other places.0

The chair looks like it may be 'utility' and from around the 1930s/40s - I wouldn't think the upholstery is leather, more like 'rexine' which was a type of faux leather popular from Victorian times - sorry!"I'm ready for my close-up Mr. DeMille...."0

did you actually pay money for this chair?!?!0

There's a thought - does it have any labels on it anywhere? A CC41 label (found on 'utility' items made during and shortly after WWII) would make it more "collectable" (and should not be painted over of course).Norma_Desmond wrote: »The chair looks like it may be 'utility' and from around the 1930s/40s0
