moveandsave.co.uk - anyone used them with success?

Hi

I thought I'd posted this yesterday but can't find it anywhere...

I'm about to put my house on the market becuase of a chnage in circumstance and due to a lot of bieng in the wrong place at the wrong time Im already about 10k down :(

Obviously I want to save what equity I'm lucky enough to have in my house still, so Im thinking of using move&save (https://www.moveandsave.co.uk) to sell as its a massive saving on the cost of an estate agent.

However they are primarily internet based, so I'm wondering if the deal is as good as it seems, they still do everything an agent would, they just don't have a shop window locally.

Has anyone used them with success? Would people recommend them, or am I just chucking £300 away and will I just end up going to a 'regular' agent in a few months?

Thanks in advance.

well i am currently househunting in tyne and wear which is one of the areas they cover and i have never heard of them or come across them on a search. I like housenetwork.co.uk who are cheaper if you have a basic package.
good luck with the sale ! ;)

I think someone reported your last post as suspected SPAM!

Why provide a link? Why not just ask what people's experience of using online estate agent's are and would anyone recommend one.

I thought the site looked a bit cheesy to be honest.

Why not provide a link, just incase people weren't aware of the companies background? Plus they claim to be between a online estate agent and a sited estate agent.

Yeah the sites lacking on the design side of things to say the least, but it doesn't necessarily mean the concept is bad. Especially considering the saving.

I suppose my general question is will my house get enough interest just by being listed online and in local listings or does that 'shop window' presence with a local agent make all the difference, especially when in my case that difference is going to be a couple of grand?

As long as it appears on Rightmove which I see it would then yeah it would get noticed by most house hunters. I don't think having a local window display makes much difference.

My house is on currently on the market with an well known online agent and I am so far pleased with my decision.

I've seen this company's signs up around nottinghamshire for some time and followed them up online. When I first saw the sign up it did spark my interest as I've never heard of the company. I don't know if they are any good, but have seen their properties on Rightmove too. They've had some decent properties on. I'm sure they have also advertised in the local property rag.

I think its fine to post the link by the way - you asked about that particular company and if anyone can recommend them not online selling in general.

  • Hmm, I never even met my estate agent when I bought my house. I found it online, the vendor showed me around every time we went back and all negotiations were done over the phone. I am slightly worried that I'm viewing the whole thing from the bias of a young person who does spend a good deal of the day using the internet and wondering if I am alienating a good percentage of the market by doing everything mainly online.

Suppose asking a load of people on the internet might be a bit daft then...

I have heard of them and have seen a few boards up. They do not do half as much 'work' as a normal estate agent. They don't even arrnage viewings, they give the prospective viewer your phone no. They also don't do and sale price negotiation, that is alsp up to you. We considered using them for about 5 minutes!

    Not worth the money.

See I don't think I would mind doing the negotiation myself but would need someone to do the viewings as I'm based in Manchester and my house is in leeds.

So essentially you are just paying them to list your property on a few free sites?
