There is hope then countryboy !
  • I don't know if hope is the right word as at the end of the day as efficient as MPs are they cannot change the law alone. I just have a bit more piece of mind that I now know where I am with my payments. I am due to be re-assessed and am in the process of getting mortgage docs, payslips etc up together and am going to copy my MP in on everything. I am also going to continue to complain to her about the CSA1 system and the unfairness of not being able to be transferred to CSA2. Probably won't help but at least it's someone to vent my frustrations on!

Maybe not but the fact you got a DEO removed is a victory in itself. Very few people manage this even though it is not law that the CSA can keep it in place.
  • Well that's pleasing to know then. Little consolation though when this whole situation has affected my whole life with my marriage at breaking point. I probably am one of the lucky ones though as my arrears were fairly small fry compared to others that I read of on here and really through no fault of my own.
  • The CSA will only usually lift a DEO if the arrears have been paid in full, and compliance established. They usually will agree to lift the DEO if you agree to pay by Direct Debit, and once the Mandate has been signed and sent back they will discharge the DEO. A direct Debit usually takes about 14 days to set up.

This i am afraid is simply not true in most cases.

Once a deo is imposed for non compliance a change of employer does not make this then become voluntary. The staff at the csa only works within the legislation at the present time and deserve credit for the work they do

And this wins the award for the most fatuous quote of the century.

The staff at the CSA have a very long and undistinguished record for working way outside the legislation at the present time (example:- "You have to pay back all arrears within 2 years, it's the law" - OH NO IT ISN'T). They also have a very long and undistinguished record of incompetence, dishonesty, stupidity, unwillingness to perform the tasks for which they are paid ... I'm sure many others can continue this list.

Ann1971, I know this because I have a very long and distinguished record of getting consolatory payments and compensation out of the gestapo because they have behaved in the above fashion. Many other people have done the same. Hundreds of thousands of others could as well, if only they knew how to do it, or had the courage to do it, or both.

The CSA is a total failure - even the government have acknowledged this, not least by scrapping it. Mind you, nothing will change, all they have done is unscrew the signs reading CSA and replaced them with signs reading C-MESS (well, nearly) but at least we have evidence to demonstrate their incompetence, so no, they do not deserve credit for the work they do, especially not for the deaths they've caused.

PS Apologies to the OP for this minor rant which is a bit off topic but I couldn't let the quote go without a comment.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and you obviously have personal experience. My opinion is yes there are problems but the staff taking the calls etc are not always to blame. Like everywhere there will be good and bad among them.

I too have a case, I am a PWC but am on good terms with the nrp. Our case went live soon after our split when I had to go on benefit and was assessed under old rules. We are still old rules and both of us happy with the service we have had.

We only ever hear of the bad, never the good.

Good luck with your case but stop getting compensation payments....thats out tax money your getting lol x

Or, to put it another way MY b****y tax money I'm getting. Whilst I've run out of cases to bring against them for now, I remain eternally vigilant because I know that their incompetence knows no bounds - if they try to come after me again, I'll be on to them again. And I'll win again because I know the system better than they do.

PS I'm glad you've been happy with the service you got. I was a PWC too - maybe I had grief because I'm male and they particularly hate male PWCs as they are outside the limits of their understanding. I'm sure there's a claim there; now, where's my big book of how to claim some more of my taxes back ............... :D:D:D
