DEO problem - Voluntary or not??!!

Quickly and not exhaustive ! :
Gross income not net, so forget about your pension.
Liability orders will no longer be done by a court the CSA will do them themselves !
Assessments will be set for a year ( unless there is a monster change in income, sorry can't remember the %age )
Already in place the ability for them to see what credit you have and " suggest " you use it to pay any arrears ( regardless of it is their fault the arrears exist )
Thats just off the top of my head ! There is plenty more !Imposing curfews on non paying nrp's ( also heard at these such curfews nrp's could be searched and any monies found would be confiscated and kept to pay CSA pyments??)This is a do-it-yourself test for paranoia: you know you've got it when you can't think of anything that's your fault.Robert M. Our DEO was enforced and we originally had no control over it and could not stop it at all.
It only became 'voluntary' apparently when he changed employer in August. They said that he had no arrears and as it was a new employer that they could not enforce the old DEO. We stupidly (as we realise now) agreed that we would keep the DEO as a voluntary agreement. We had a letter through stating it was voluntary and when it went pear shaped we were told by CSA that as it was 'voluntary' we could unvolunteer if we wanted.
I don't think this is the case with an enforced DEO because of arrears.
This is very unusual. Once the CSA have a DEO they never normally let it go. Even if there is a new employer and no arrears.
I suggest you get that SO in quick smart before they notice the mistake !0 -

The curfew idea is i believe in the legislation. The rest no !
Also tagging is not out the question. However these are extreme measures that i doubt will be used very often if at all. They have always had extreme powers but seem reluctant to use them on the truly non compliant.0 -

I have been having problems with a DEO. I paid off my arrears two weeks ago and was asked by CSA to send direct debit form to them in order that my payments could go back to this method. I completed the form and sent it back. For the last two weeks they have been taking money by direct debit and also DEO. I have made numerous phone calls to them (I know this is not recommended but at the end of the day I am not able to wait for postal replies when I am shelling out money hand over foot and living on a pittance). In the end I got my MP involved and within a few hours it was sorted. DEOs have stopped, money refunded via my employer and assurance that there will be no more DEOs.
My advice is to always ask your MP to intervene when you feel like you are banging your head against a brick wall. I know that they might not all be as efficient but it's their duty to try and help you and it's what you pay your taxes for.0
