Another vote for www.bluenile.com here too: fab customer service and absolutely beautiful rings. We got mine from there and couldn't recommend them highly enough.

Firstly congrats - very exciting times! My boyfriend and I went to London last weekend and had a great time. We did our reaseach about Hatton Garden before going up and made appointments with three jewellers. 2 of them were regular shops and one was Hyde Park Design which is based in the diamond building but doesn't have a shop front. We chose just to book three appointments because when I looked online I realised that there's literally hundreds of shops on that one street!

When we went to Hyde Park Design we met Sean & Paul who are brothers and work with their Dad in their family business and they were brilliant! It was super relaxed - they went through everything, showed us loads of different designs and we even had the chance to look at blue nile in their office to do a bit of a comparison with an internet retailer (Hyde Park Design worked out cheaper).

We did the whole looking for the flaws in different diamonds thing and came out feeling like professionals ;-) I know that there is a lot more to learn but it was great to feel as though you were being taught about what you are looking at spending serious money on. Althoguh our budget wasn't massive in comparison with other people - it has taken us ages to save it! There was absolutely no pressure on us to buy anything and they spent loads of time (about 3 hours!) taking us through all the different types and characteristics of diamonds and settings.

Anyway, I will try to wrap up (I can't sop talking when I get excited!) We left with an option to purchase a D VS2 .51 for the same price as we had been offered by other jewellers for diamonds which were at least 3 grades lower! We also sat there and Paul sketched our own design for the ring which he will be making for us this week. I never thought that we could have something specifically made for us with an amazing diamond all within our budget - AMAZING!!

We obviously haven't got the ring yet but I will update once we do if anyone is interested? Now I just have to wait for my boyfriend to propose, a bit unconventional I know but it was a really romantic weekend and I know once he does propose thatIam going to love the ring which we designed together!

When you are buying a ring for your loved one, it may be little irritating. Because it normally means that the person is really very special to you, it may be your sister, lover or whatever. Your post is really helpful for me. Thanks for sharing such wonderful information.

Hi, sorry to interfere.
My cousins due to be engaged at the end of the month and she is looking to give her husband to be, a WHITE GOLD ring. (hes going to give her a diamond one).
Any suggestions or ideas of where we could buy a nice one at a nice price (other than Argos).
We don't want to be spending too much now as on the wedding day,both the bride and groom will have be indian gold wedding rings.

I can thoroughly recommend Dejoria - got our perfect engagement ring from them 5 years ago and then our wedding rings a couple of years later which they price matched to a local jeweller who obviously hadn't noticed platinum prices had recently gone through the roof!!

Excellent customer service and very friendly staff :j.

Do they sell white gold rings,I'm not familiar with gold,platinum etc so thats why the lightbulb!:o
