3's INQ1 is it good for just a phone?

Not really in to Facebook or mesenger (yet) but with Three you get the Internet Max for free. Will use the phone for calls and text and maybe skype.

Not used the internet on a phone so like the idea of it. Is the internet on a phone any good? can you go on all websites like here for example or ebay.

Thank you.

I like the phone, however it is not made to view full websites more suited to mobile websites.

Ebay is free and doesn't use any your datas "fair use", this is also true for email, skype and messenger, although they have fair use polocies of thier own.

Battry life is not bad I get a couple of days without it dying on my and I text a bit, send alot of emails and some calls. I am also always signed into skype & facebook. However messenger is a little buggy.

All in all I personally think it is a good phone.

  • I've had this mobile for a couple of days now and I'm glad I did. At present I tend to use my mobile to get onto the internet and to send around a hundred text a month.
I've just came out of a three contract and didn't want to spend around £30 a month and not get my moneys worth.

Basically, I'm only spending £15 a month with the mobile internet, unlimited text and a free mobile. You also get 75 mins which isn't alot but for me it's ideal.

I'd recommend downloading opera mini which is a free browser dedicated to mobiles, it's alot better than the one on the phone. Dime Bar - the web pages are as they are the computer, granted you have to scroll left to right but as a whole it's fantastic.

Compared to a computer, mobile internet is slow but it is a great feature and I use it everyday. For me one of the best things on this mobile is the ability to have upto three widgets on your main screen. I have two rss feeds, hotukdeals and MSE as two of mine. Every hour the feeds are automatically updated - great way to be kept up to date with offers etc.

If you are going to get this phone don't forget to use quidco to get £32.50 cashback and use the refer a friend scheme to get £30 credit. I think that if I get both of these and with the internet add on that I would of paid for as a payg customer my tariff only came to £6.53 a month for the text, minutes and free mobile. There is also a code on hotukdeals to get a £20 accessories voucher.

You can attach the mobile to your computer/laptop and use it as a modem. I don't get a good signal strength at home but it was alot better than when I tried using a three mobile dongle.

I don't use facebook, messenger, skype or anything like that either but they are intergrated well - so much so I think I will.

    Any help let us know.

agreed. If I have it hidden in the background I'll get an alert saying 'New Messenger chat received' but when I open the application the message doesn't come up. It's a real hassle to be honest.

I also second the comment about getting Opera Mini, the browser with the phone is all right but Opera lets you get on pretty much any website.

I guess I'd recommend it, I'm a bit apprehensive about it lasting out the length of my contract as it doesn't seem entirely robust, both physically and functionality-wise. But we'll see.

I'm on the £20 Texter contract - 200 mins, unlimited texts and unlimited internet. I was having problems with 3 at the time so they also gave me an additional £5 monthly bringing it down to £15 (on my last contract I was paying £15 for 75 mins, 600 texts and an additional £5 for internet so this was :T ). So if you've got any bones to pick with 3 I'd suggest doing that and see what they can do for you! Assuming you're already with them that is :)

I can't access Skype on my INQ - I'm getting a message saying "Sorry, you've not been given access to this service".

I called the 3 helpline and they said Skype is part of the internet Max add on (!!!) and therefore I couldn't access it until my new tariff starts at the end of my old tariff. I pointed out that my new tariff started after my last bill, so if all other aspects of the tariff are in place, why not the Skype bit? She was adamant that it wouldn't start until then (April) and wouldn't discuss, and wouldn't pass me over to a supervisor.

I've just check the 3 website which says:
    Getting it

Some of you may already have Skype on your mobile under Applications or My own folders. Skype if you don't...
    What does it cost?

It's free for all customers. If you're on Pay As You Go just Top up your phone regularly to keep using Skype. Fair Use policy and conditions apply for Pay Monthly or Pay As You Go General Information customers. Skype Credit must be bought from Skype.com to Call Phones Abroad.

I don't think Skype has anything to do with internet add-ons.

Anyone got any thoughts/insight or tips as to what to do next? I've tried the Glasgow call centre on another issue, but couldn't get to speak to them unless I had a reference number.

    Cheers
