If all companies only employed people who were willing to carry out the work at the cheapest cost then surely every country could just look to whatever country currently has the skillsets required but also the poorest standard of living and either import all workers from there or move all their operations to that country.

Meanwhile every other worker in every other counrty in the world would just sit on the dole or kill each other for whatever was left as there would be no dole without tax?

Eventually the country who originally had the pooerest standard of living would of course in time become prosperous. Say this took 10 years to acheive. Say there are 200 countries in the world. That means that every 2000 years it would be the UKs turn to prosper for a decade.

What the hell are you guys worrrying about?!?!? We would be loaded for the whole of 4009-4019! Bring it on!

I think that is either called taking something to its logical conclusion or being an obtuse !!!!!. I am not sure which.

So the point of this post is. Surely every country has to have a structure and cannot just let everybody/anybody from any country (EU or otherwise) come and undercut the local work force?

Any, you are typing the words, I cant change them myself. If you tell us how wonderful the work ethic is of foreigners compared to us and then tell us how the foreigners are not striking in the UK, of course I shall point out that they strike in their homelands. I dont think we hear of troops of Brits striking in other countries, do we?

If you make a statement, you have to expect people to contradict what they see as unfair.

(Take it you have a day off today then)

Dearest, you are invited to argue and correct, all I am asking is not to twist my words... :rotfl:
By the way I don't remember saying anything about foreigners work ethics. That was someone else. I only said what my ethic is and how I got on. I now many extremely hard working Brits and few extremely lazy foreigners... So I am not entering that argument.
And yes, working from home today. Lot of snow our way...

I will ask again: If a worker has a wife ,2 children, mortgage ,council tax to pay ,all with 1 wage how can he compete with 4 migrants living in 1 house all paying 25% of all the bills but earning 4x the wages.
If we carry on this route we will all be on the minimum wage , THEN how do we finance the health service, policing, education, the armed forces and NOT forgetting the ££millions we contribute to overseas aid...

I pretty much agree with this chaps point.

And that is from someone with a non-pay undercutting migrant worker as a partner.

There has to be a strcuture.

Yes, that is what I mean... You only pick what you want to hear. I don't see how foreigners striking abroad are relevant to work opportunities here while workers here are striking..

Maybe I should have said "and wait, the only workers in the UK that are not striking are foreigners...".
But I didn't see there space for mistranslation. My mistake.:D

Don't worry about it. I think what you were saying was clear. Don't let your "translations" put you off. You are doing very well. If that is not too patronising.

    This is true enough.

Why would you go abroad to earn a better wage than you can earn at home and then strike when you are there? I am not sure your arguement stands up here Any.

I think bOrker, that was said tongue in cheek by Any :) You misunderstood - easy done isnt it. :)

BTW, lot of snow here too but my OH is contracted to finish a job working on a rooftop and he has gone to it.
  • So no more blaming Migrants please. We should rightly blame so called Politicians (all parties), who are looking out for us. Sorry I forgot lining their pockets first.
force the goverment ministers to put people not money first. we need to find a means to stop ministers taking Loans that nobody is consultated about until it is to late. Because like the majority of people they never quite finish reading the small print.:rotfl:and miss the bit about the restrictions applied.

I dont think anyone has blamed migrants sad? I think we all know its down to the government not having the foresight to see what was going to happen and then not having the guts to change things.

It was sadsadjenjen who said about her/his great work ethics.
Migrants were needed in the 50s to restore order with their great work ethics.

Who then went on to tell us this

Only reason I am at home is due to the weather London once again has come to a standstill. Is that my fault No,

The snow was hardly unexpected! Plenty of time to plan a route into work. I got up at 4.30 this morning because I knew I would have a long slog getting in to London.

Those of us that put in the extra effort to get in to work today have decided that those that didn't make the effort, should have their pay docked for how ever many days they decide to bunk off and the money given to charity. Don't think you lazy bu@@ers have had your work done for you either, we just did the urgent stuff and the rest has been piled up for your return.
RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

And today off will spoil Any's spotless attendance record too :)

My OH has just come in from work now - been out in the snow since 6.30 a.m. He is frozen, his clothes are stiff from the cold. Bloody lazy Brit.had the nerve to complain he's cold and wants a cup of tea, typical.
