London Eye??

  • If you are planning to go on a sunday or bank holiday there is no congestion charge and parking is free. If you get there 10-11amish, you can usually park anywhere in the centre of London. A good place to park near to the London Eye is the bridge that is next to Westminster bridge(whose name escapes me! - next to the Festival hall) or any of the side streets off of the Strand. If you go , have a walk along the south bank - go to Tate Modern and over the wobbly bridge to St Pauls cathedral.

Waterloo Bridge ,Its a brilliant experience I went last year just as it was getting dark .Fabulous :D

I've been on it four times (yes I know!!!!) and loved it three times. The time it was bucketing down was very disappointing as there are no wipers....

And if you're a lady don't wear a short skirt, or else stand in the middle.

You can't park 'anywhere'! Parking attendants are in full force on Sundays as well. You can park on a single yellow line and non-resident only (pay and display) parking bays in LB of Westminster for free on Sundays and after 6:30pm Mon - Sat.

Lots of cars park on Waterloo Bridge, but not sure of parking restrictions myself.

  • Sorry, I meant not on double yellow lines or resident parking - if you see a parking meter - you can park there. Bank holidays are free as well. We always park on Waterloo Bridge if we go up for the day on a Sunday - no restrictions for Sundays or bank holidays.

Do the eye and river boat trip via the web site. We loved it.

On Sundays there are lots of buskers, street artists, mime acts etc just east along the south embankment. If you see the man with the 12ft high uni cycle stay and watch. He was fabulously funny.

There is an NCP under the national theatre, 5 mins walk from the eye onthe south bank. Not sure on the price tho.
I save so I can spend.

I queued for an hour both times I went on it which were both in the winter. It's well worth the money and not scary at all. If you look on ebay there are always some good ticket offers going.

there's a nice restaurant along the southbank, under the festival hall, once you've finished called giraffe https://www.giraffe.net I think. They have a good 2 course set meal 5-7pm with a couple of choices per course for £5.95 - they also have great coctails too

I looked at this website. I found that by signing up it gives you a 2 for 1 voucher for burgers.
