London Eye??

Hi,
Looking to visit the London Eye on easter monday but need some info.

If I book a flight online does it give you a time to be there or can you choose, & what happens if you miss it?

What are the queues like?

Where would be the best place to park?

Any other tips welcomed!!

Cheers.

Nice Piccie - hope you ducked!

You choose the times to be on the flight. You can be late or early - but not too much!

As for queues, I wouldn't worry. I have never been waiting more than 15 mins and that was the hight of summer season. Last time was in Oct and were less than 5 mins getting on.

Cant help with Parking. I believe its just within congestion zone, so depending which wasy you go, you would be stuck for that too (unless weekend??) I always go into London via train. (cheap tickets!)

Queues will be horrenduous if you go in the middle of the day in the middle of summer. In summer, you should either go easrly or late, but the rest of the year, it shouldn't be so bad.
  • Went on the eye last March at the sunset trip. We booked online so didn't have to queue for to collect tickets and even though there seemed to be an endless queue to get on we waited only about 10 mins in total and we were costantly moving not standing still. Can't help with parking as we had a taxi from our hotel next to Tower Bridge and it oly cost £6:00 between 4 of us!
  • If you are planning to go on a sunday or bank holiday there is no congestion charge and parking is free. If you get there 10-11amish, you can usually park anywhere in the centre of London. A good place to park near to the London Eye is the bridge that is next to Westminster bridge(whose name escapes me! - next to the Festival hall) or any of the side streets off of the Strand. If you go , have a walk along the south bank - go to Tate Modern and over the wobbly bridge to St Pauls cathedral.

It's going to be stuck with that name for ever I'm afraid :p

there's a nice restaurant along the southbank, under the festival hall, once you've finished called giraffe https://www.giraffe.net I think. They have a good 2 course set meal 5-7pm with a couple of choices per course for £5.95 - they also have great coctails too
