Has anyone had their winter`s bills yet and are they as big as you thought they would be?

We're using less than last year but read our meters every week so no surprises. We also submit our readings monthly to Scottish Power who generate a bill so we know where we are.

Edit: Just checked and our last three months is about £400. 3 bed house with six people. We are high users but, last year, in a bigger house, we were over £450 for this quarter.

    Hi

We've had the gas in today. Was higher than I thought. Was £70.22 over the same period last year. This time it is £123 Admittedly I was off work for 5 weeks due to the loss of my dad and didn't go out much over that time and had the fires on, so I am making a bit of allowance for that. Electric is up but only £10 on last quarter.
I got there - I'm debt free and intend to stay that way. If I haven't got the cash, it doesn't get bought. It's as simple as that.

Arrived last week. We've still not managed to break £100 for a quarter of either gas or electricity.

There won't be a joint gas/electricity statement from npower this winter because they changed to 6 monthly billing periods instead of quarterly. My last statement was in late October 2008 so the next one isn't due until late April.
  • Still waiting on mine, its due any day now I think, although im £140 in credit with gas and £100 in credit with electricity, so im going to get the DD knocked down a bit

My DD is set at £72/month, with about £100 credit. November and December's usage (combined) for G&E was almost £165 - considerably less than last years!

Considering asking SP to lower my DD to £69/month.

I read meter readings and wow, eleccy is bloody high, but gas we have overused (but by so little we are still up from DDs for gas from summer).

    Waiting for the bill though.

I`m nervously waiting for mine. I`ll be £300 in credit ready for the bill but think I`ll be £100 short as the price went up and its much colder.

I don't think npower issued the whole countries statements in late October. I received my last one on August 2nd so I am expecting my next one shortly.
