just wanted to let you all know what happened to me when i rang vodafone to upgrade. first call they told me there are no free upgrades anymore and offered me a very basic upgrade for £80. when i said that was no good they said ok ill do it you for £65! the only other offer on the table was for a returned phone for £20. obviously i told them i was cancelling my contract and was told to write to them. so of course i did and got myself a nice new phone and a deal im happy with, with o2 in the meantime. then the calls began.....each time the offer sounded better and each time me telling them it was just too little too late. anyway to cut a long story short they called again today and offered me 6 months free and 6 months on my old tarriff which was 100 min and 100 text negotiated £5 line rental discount to £17/month from the yr before and a new sony erricson w900 (a lovely phone with everything you could want and more) inc.usb cable, headset and 2 months free sky tv....all the trimmings! so we signed on the line and it comes on monday. my partner was due a new phone so we will use it for him. just wanted to let you all know how they worked with me - very different from last yr but ended up with what i think is a good deal.

excellent...so my words were not in vain then.... go for it cancel and then see... i actually liked vodafone and had no reason to ditch and was looking forward to the haggle but it seemed pointless. look at the phone we got if you dont no it already it looks really cool and is about 600 dollars in america! maybe not the deal of the century but im happy...thanks for replying and making it worth telling... good luck

  • So just to confirm you got the W900, on the 100 mins/100 texts tariff, free for 6 months then 6 months at £17? That sounds like a fantastic deal. What were your monthly bills coming to beforehand? Did they make you go for an 18 month contract?

12 month contract 6 months free 6 months 17.02 plus vat.i think the text is on top not sure usually came to about 23/a month but yes the w900 is the phone with the trimmings. i got £5 off the line rental last yr for 100 min package and they say will still honour it. hope that makes sense to you but the phone looks brill - is coming on monday... they did leave it til 11th hour to offer this and i had to cancel first though...when they got my letter they really started to call... hope you get what you want
