stansted security 5.45am

Hello

Flying from Stansted in a few weeks time . Flight leaves 6.45am on a friday morning , with easyjet

We are staying the night before at the Raddison , connected to the Terminal itself

Of course we want to have as much time in bed as possible and were wondering what the Security was like at that time in the morning ( how long to pass through )

We were thinking of arriving at checking desk at 5.45am , One hour before flight departure . Have any of you got experiences of going through Stansted at this time and should 5.45am be Ok to arrive at check in ?

thanks in advance

So you're leaving 1 hour for queing up at check in, getting checked in, getting through security and then getting to the gate, dont forget also the flight leaves at 6.45 not boards so boarding will be closing at 6.15-6.25

Thats gonna be really tight, a lot of flights leave between 6 and 8 therefore lots of people trying to get thru security at the time you're looking at going, oddly enough the airport is quiet'ish at the mo but I really would'nt risk it. Even on our team days out which we have checked in online we still arrive at the latest an hour before.

Why not get there an extra 45 mins early and if you get thru security early then you can have a look at duty free or have a quick coffee at starbucks etc.
Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right

Easyjet check-in closes 40 minutes before departure time so your plan leaves you 20 minutes to get checked in before you say "bye bye" to your flight
  • Don't forget that little train that you have to get on to get to gates. (unless you are flying with Ryanair) This train can easily add 10/15 minutes.
We have been there two hours before flight and have still had to be rushed through the queues at security to catch flight. Although this was last June and we have flown 4 times from stansted since then and they seem to have started to sort out their security. Have also flown from Gatwick, Luton & Norwich in the last year and the security has been much quicker at these airports.

You do the logistics working backwards from take off time:

    Takeoff - 6:45am
Boarding starts - 6:15am (you should be at gate by then)
    Checkin desk closes - 6:05am
Travel time departure lounge to gate - 15/20 minutes
    Leave departure lounge - 5:55-6:00am

That leaves you 10 to 15 minutes to check in, get to security and clear security. Suggest you either get up earlier and book a seat on th e next flight.

  • Totally agree with the above. That time in the morning the queues will be massive with Businessmen, etc trying to get to destinations nice and early. You wont get to the desk in time. Well, you might, but I wouldnt risk it.
