It says 8 months for the price of 12, so an individual membership is £44 not £33??

The £33 price is 25% off the normal Individual membership price of £44 for paying by Direct Debit.
The 18 months for the price of 12 is a separate offer, so to summarise:
25% when paying by DD offer: £2.75 per month
18 months for the price of 12 offer: £2.44 per month
So not much difference really...Everybody dies, but not everyone truly lives0 -
The prices have changed since I started this thread. In addition to the 18 months offer there was also a good reduction for paying by DIrect Debit. This seems to have been removed, so the offer is not as good as it was. I have now had another look at their pricing and if you go to the Home page and then categories you get the correct pricing. SeeHi
Sorry if I'm being dim but all I can see is £72.50 for a family for 18 months and not £54.38 - am I doing something wrong??

Current prices for English NT membership can be found here.
My wife and I have held a joint membership since the early '70s as we like to support such a cause. I do find their pricing policies a bit odd though. I mean, take our joint membership ... standard price £77 which is taken annually by direct debit ... but if we were joining today, it would be £57.75 for the first year! That's a significant discount, presumably to entice new members. I just think it's a great shame they don't reward loyalty by giving a discount to those who have held continuous membership for X years.
The other thing which annoys me is their administration of the reduced pensioner rate for the over-sixties. Because we pay by automatic direct debit, coupled with the fact that I shall be 60 before the next renewal is due to be taken, I wrote to them late last year asking them to apply the reduction to my half of the renewal when it becomes due.
I got a really terse template letter back saying that their records indicate I'm not yet eligible for the reduction and / or I haven't been a member for the required 5 years. The first qualification would be satisfied well before they are next due to take our money, and as already stated, the second qualification is certainly fulfilled because we have held continuous membership since the '70s.
I was seriously unimpressed with this high-handed response to a loyal member.

Hi Oblivion - my renewal has just come through with the new cards, and I hit 60 last week. I called the membership helpline and a very polite young man at once changed the amount due to leave my account in March to reflect the fact that we are now both entitled to the lower seniors' price. I've saved £24 on what it was going to be. Try ringing when the new cards arrive - maybe you'll be better-treated that way. Hope so anyway!Resolution:

Anyone know if you can use Quidco to renew / pay for next year's membership? I joined the English NT last year and got the £20 cashback, and I can't see anything one either site saying it has to be new members only.0

I know this is a money saving site, but they are a trust, so maybe Quidco is taking it a bit far.Anyone know if you can use Quidco to renew / pay for next year's membership? why is quidco taking it too far..if quidco offer moneyback then why not use it?0

there is a note on the NZ trust site that states
"Update
Please note that incorrect information is circulating that our membership benefits include free parking at sites in the UK. Charges may apply for parking, use of amenities and at times of special events and exhibitions"
so maybe buying this isnt such a big saving unless ur going to NZ as well!0
