Anyone else having problems with NTL broadband recently?

The past two weeks we've had massive problems; we have to reset our set-top box (and the router for our network) at least twice a day and quite often can't get emails or internet connection. It started (I presume) around the time they rolled out this new 10Mb offering (we can only officially get 5Mb and are not prepared to pay for a new set top box from them). The phone's fine, the TV is mostly fine.
Anyone else, or is it just us?

The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.

It may be worth asking if they can install a stand alone cable modem (SACM) rather than routing the broadband through the set top box - I think they are quite keen to do this, as some set top boxes cannot keep pace with the high speeds they are offering.0

i have only had probs with my NTL broadband since going wireless. i loose the connection at least every hour, and its also picky about which emails it lets through
no idea why, NTLs technical dept were about as much help as a chocolate Tpot, when i said i had a wireless network.

Yeah maybe that's our problem. My upstairs laptop has been unable to connect to our wireless network for a couple of months now, and my downstairs PC is very dodgy. However I turned off Norton today and my DH has gone to get a new version (the current one is a proper upgrade which wouldn't let me activate it), and since then it's been working fine this afternoon. A friend is coming next week to sort out our network, so we'll see. I haven't even bothered calling NTL because they're always so useless; if you can get through to them in the first place, as soon as you say you have a network they don't want to know. I think we'll look at moving to another supplier once I've moved all the important emails to another web-based email address. We've been NTL customers for at least 5 years but they've gone way downhill this past year, and it doesn't make any sense to stay with them. The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. Its driving me nuts,NTL won't send anyone out to diagnose the actual fault, just keep telling me to empty my cache because it causes a slow connection, what kind of twoddle is this? I'm using Mac OSX 10.3 with a high spec machine, dial up is faster! The service simply vanishes for an hour then returns only after unplugging the cable modem for 30 seconds. NTL technical support is a joke.0
