and do we really want to deny all those hard up students their chance of discounts? (OK, Probably yes!)

I'm probably going off-topic with this but it needs to be said.

Why should students (not even all students, only those with NUS membership) be entitled to offers and discounts the rest of us aren't? If a company was to offer discounts to say, only those of a certain race or religion or (a supporter of a certain) political party, there would be uproar.

Offers should be for everyone or none at all.

Edit: Yes I know the MOCs aren't student specific. I was referring to the other offers.

Hate to go all 'Emperors New Clothes' on this but is this really a valid printable link or just a link to the 'e' version of the booklet? Seems like it's the same as the e-Metro debacle which has killed many a good moc for those lucky enough to get them (Not me sadly!) and do we really want to deny all those hard up students their chance of discounts? (OK, Probably yes!)
Did the email specifically say they could be printed? Nothing in the booklet says you can, just 'Refuse redemption' if copied on the Wall's one which is the only one I'm tempted to try....

I originally saw them a few days ago here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=18440611&highlight=http%3A%2F%2Fnus.clikpages.co.uk%2Fnusextra%2Fdiscount-book-2009%2F#post18440611

Aparently they have been sent out in E form to all NUS members, why send them if you can't print? after all it's not a magazine with 1 coupon in, it's a booklet full of vouchers. Someone on the above thread has emailed asking for a paper copy to use the coupons so I was waiting to see if they posted a reply before I posted a link here, but instinct tells me it is okay to print.

This has always been the case, 10% off in many highstreet shops eg Topshop when you show your NUS card, just like OAP's get discounts off entrance fees, travel, haircuts etc.
They do pay a annual fee for the card aswell, so I think it's reasonable to get some exclusive offers.

At least student discounts are not ageist...OAP discounts clearly are! It would be interesting if OAP discounts were ever challanged by reason of ageism.

Before anyone starts shouting 'awww...all OAPs are poor', I beg to differ. The vast majority of shoppers in my local M&S are elderly, with trolleys full of clothing & food. I only go in there to pick up £5 off £25 leaflets or to check out the last of the sale reductions, and get knocked aside in the OAP stampede every time!

All the OAPs I know are either not doing badly (or are flippin' well off), I know NONE who are poor. That includes relatives of mine who I love dearly - so I'm not an oldie-hater by any means. I am just saying it how it is IMHO.

Anyhoo, back on topic, I reckon the NUS coupons are fine to print because they are designed to be printed/downloaded. Try clicking on one and see, they give you a printer option and a save/download option.

  • Please can someone tell me if the vouchers/coupon that you print off have to be coloured to be accepted?

    My coloured ink ran out

any one else used the vouchers/coupons in black & white?

    i`m new to this!

very gratefull if some 1 could answer me question!!:p

    thank you:smiley::smiley:

Hi and welcome to the forum. I print my coupons in black and white only and as long as they are legit, valid, and will scan, my local will accept them. Good luck.

The first page of the booklet is to the right the left being blank. You can put the page you want to go to . The burger one does not work in Tesco.
