It seems as if this could soon be nationwide:eek:
Just a reminder that T stooped taking internet coupons once before - long before I knew about them but months later altered their policy back again, I presume because people voted with their feet and their takings went down
You would think they would have learned from that experience

I made a quick visit to my local Tesco's store in Mansfield after work today and I did notice the sign in the foyer stating ' As from 1st Feb ....."store name".... will no longer accept internet coupons as a method of payment' ..... BAD TIMES!

This decision couldn't have come at a worse time for shoppers, with the current financial climate. This is a very popular store in our region. They may lose custom.

If this policy became nationwide, I would have thought Tesco's turnover would significantly reduce, with a decline in their market share. Would shareholders be happy with this?

Not to mention the detrimental effect on web coupon providers, such as couponet.

I wonder if one of the culprits from ebay who were selling altered internet coupons (Eukanuba/Bodyform/Yakult spring to mind) comes from Mansfield? Maybe they've been using their own handiwork too close to home.

Or maybe one of our forum trolls who like to boast how many of the same rubbishy coupons they've shoved through the self-scan, comes from there?

Shame on them for being so greedy as to spoil the policy for others.

Mad only takes his information from verified sources, therefore will not act upon the posters information. Hey, but if anyone wants to sign him up for free spam it's an option.....not that I would condone such a thing ;)

My local Tesco have only been taking one coupon per transaction for a couple of months now. Once again the change in the rule was down to someone who abused the policy, don't know who they were but I do know they were banned from the store. The store manager doesn't seem willing to budge from his decision on 1 coupon.

The person who caused the problems used over £100 in coupons in one visit and when the coupons arrived at the cash office it was noticed that a lot of them were out of date and photocopied, shame on these people who do this type of thing and spoil it for everyone.

Haven't been in my local Tesco since last Thursday, will check at the weekend if they have a notice up regarding coupons.
