Oh isn't it kind of Tesco to let you spend your hard earned money buying petrol from them (NOT!!) I think that more people are using coupons cos Martin is letting more people know, with all the interviews etc he does and he also posted it in his weekly newsletter. Don't know if it's just me, but I wish he would now go onto some other money saving tip (selfish I know but I don't care:p )

Lol isn't it just. think i'd still use asda 4 fuel as it's closer lol!!! I think you are right about more people using vouchers and good luck to them aslong as us long time users don't loose out (which it seems we are lol).

Ohwell theres plenty of other shops around includin other tesco's even if we wont get to them as much lol!!! ;)

I've been stopping with friends who shop at Tesco's daily, but cannot be bothered with coupons.

Anyway, after a few days here, i could sit back no more - they have SIX computers to go at  - so i said "may i", and started printing away ( i just happened to have my own wireless printer in the boot lol).

Anyway, i have gone through every coupon on 3 computers so far, with 3 to go. :D

Hope they don't change the policy again any time soon, as i will have used up a full ink cartidge for nothing.

I have never known a Tesco petrol station accept coupons even though their tills are the same as instore.

I suppose if you were just buying food you could insist they check with the store but in pinkprincedss1980's case I think it could cause more trouble than it's worth.

Sounds to me as if St Austell store have made an OTT decision, and - as has often been the case as reported on forums - Dundee (who are not HO they are only a Call centre and have very little clout) have sided with the Store. They don't know the coupon policy as they didn't issue it, Head Office (Cheshunt) did - but they don't deal with customer queries!

pinkprincedss1980 I think you are stuck between a rock and a hard place and it may be better to walk away and continue to shop elsewhere. Their decision about 'excess coupons' is unfair because the policy is clear that you can use any amount - but I am not sure I would take it further if treated as you have been. It's their loss, I just hope you can find another store who will accept some coupons, or a cheaper store?

Sorry coupon mad just read your post after replying to op. Thank you for your response and kind words.

Luckily the other Tesco's around still seem to be taking coupons and we do go near some of them regularly. Also in our town we have Lidl Aldi Asda Coop and Somerfield is nearby so there is plenty of choice and we don't mind shopping around lol.

I hope everybody else doesn't have the same problems as us and if you do fight your ground like us even if it doesn't work you have got to try.

Do they do food in the Petrol Station and can you use moc's if you don't buy petrol?? Bit worrying, I used 24 in my shop last week, luckily I bought 25 items (pure fluke) I though you were safe as long as you had no more moc's than items and the total was less so that you actually gave them some money?

I think the mocs and items is store soecific as when I lived in Brum one store was you couldn't have more vouchers than items, another was a max of 5 coupons and some were just whatever lol.

I think the petrol station would vary as some do stock a small amount of food and I know some people who have occasionaly used vouchers against food or papers in the petrol stations and the sa's have let them.

We always paid something for our shopping even if it was only a couple of pence but like the op said it is there loss lol!!! :rotfl:

There seems to be one important thing everyone is missing with pinkprincedss1980 dilemma with the St Austell store and that is the part in Tesco's policy that states: "There is NO limit on the amount of branded coupons a customer can use at one time. They can pay for all of their shopping using branded coupons if all of the coupons are for different products stocked by Tesco."

It isn't very often, but now and again I have managed to walk out of the store without opening my purse. I think Tesco does very well from me as I use all legit coupons so they as making 2p from every coupon I give them. So if I give them 15 coupons (sometimes more, sometimes less just using 15 as an expample) everyday that means they have made £2.10 a week, £8.4 a month, £100.80 a year! That isn't too shabby to say that it is 100% clear profit from me using coupons. And their sales figures are looiking healthy too!!

    And another:

No shop (Tesco included) has to do business with anyone if they don't want to.

That I understand, I am an ex-publican so I know all too well about bans. I was just trying to point out that according to Tesco policy, you do not have to actually spend money on your groceries as one or 2 people had mentioned that maybe pinkprincedss1980 did not spend enough money.
