There seems to be one important thing everyone is missing with pinkprincedss1980 dilemma with the St Austell store and that is the part in Tesco's policy that states: "There is NO limit on the amount of branded coupons a customer can use at one time. They can pay for all of their shopping using branded coupons if all of the coupons are for different products stocked by Tesco."

It isn't very often, but now and again I have managed to walk out of the store without opening my purse. I think Tesco does very well from me as I use all legit coupons so they as making 2p from every coupon I give them. So if I give them 15 coupons (sometimes more, sometimes less just using 15 as an expample) everyday that means they have made £2.10 a week, £8.4 a month, £100.80 a year! That isn't too shabby to say that it is 100% clear profit from me using coupons. And their sales figures are looiking healthy too!!
thanks for pointing that out, this has been my point but to no avail, the problem stem,I think from my daughter and I [I'm pinkprincess's mum] reporting them for there bad attitude, but they are sticking to thier guns so we will travel a bit further to do our shopping, it is their loss, thanks again for your support,;)

I agree with you, it is their loss! I'd also tell everyone I knew what happened to you at that store so they can boycott them. I told (actually still telling) people about my bad experiences at the Dudley store and I know 7 of those people that no longer shop there because of what I told them. So I figure that has cost them around £800/week and lost sales due to their bad attiitude. Makes me wonder sometimes if the cashiers ever think about where Tesco gets the money to pay their wages! No customers, no wages - simples!!

ok...what to do is sign in to McCain and DO NOT print the voucher.
Go to newsletter and print the voucher from there instead!(where it says half price home roasts)
Out pops a voucher for £1.01 if you haven't already downloaded from them.

Need to try on another PC tho' since I have reached my limit

Sorry to hear it kim_ley but I'm afraid you won't get anywhere with HO as it is down to the manager's discretion. But if you want to write to them, go to their website and click on contact us, you will find the address there.

AFAIK there is no email address or phone number a customer can use to contact Tesco Head Office (except their Legal Dept for specific complaints). There's an email for Dundee but I really wouldn't bother as they are only a Call Centre and they will invariably side with a store's decision on coupons.

You have two different issues I think.

The first is that your local store won't accept internet printed coupons at all. They are allowed to say this as internet coupons are only accepted at Store Managers' discretion anyway. My local store don't allow internet mocs any more because too many STAFF abused them, printing off grotty black&white versions & putting them through the tills several times during one shift!! So they banned them completely even if you buy the product, which is a shame but I didn't argue as it's their decision.

So there's nowt you can do about internet mocs.

But in the case of other coupons, I would be inclined to write to the Store Manager by name. Type a polite letter asking why your coupons are no longer being accepted in accordance with Tesco coupon policy which allows it? Say you understand they have disallowed internet prints and you can accept this as you know this is down to store discretion, but you would like to use some other coupons from magazines, etc., and know the national policy allows this without purchasing the corresponding item.

Enclose a copy of the wording (copied & pasted from page one of this thread but not the whole MSE post or page, obviously!). Keep the letter enquiring, not complaining, but make sure you don't ask 'what the coupon policy is in the store' as they can make any answer up to that question. State what you know confidently and say it is causing you delay and embarrassment as a long-standing customer, that some staff do not know the Tesco policy on coupons?

At the end of the day you'll have to adhere to whatever the Store Manager says. In my local Tesco, a letter I sent to the SM worked for me and the staff were briefed, and I stopped getting treated like a thief. If it had gone the other way and the SM had said 'no coupons unless you buy the product', at least I would have known that the decision was from the top rather than based on a Supervisor's or Duty Manager's whim.

I know you say you've spoken to 'the Manager' but that's almost certainly been a Duty Manager if called to see you on the shop floor. Not the same as the Store Manager.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Internet coupons is down to manager discretion, but the national policy for manufacturer coupons is still as it states on the first page.

email address is customer.service@tesco.co.uk but at the end of the day if a polite word and showing that you know the correct policy by showing the policy from page 1, doesn't help, then an email from their "call centre" probably won't help either.

:rotfl:not only can coupon-mad type quicker than me, she can also give a more detailed, more accurate response IMHO:rotfl:
