We managed to get a few of the tesco mags whilst in Devon last week, but like most things they seem to be takin an age gettin to our local store in Cornwall lol!!!
From what I can see I agree with Princess Coupon and it's just the cheese one which isn't Tesco store specific. You can normally tell with vouchers if they say something along the lines of this voucher will remain the property of tesco stores then generally it is store specific.
However in the mag there is a 50p off voucher for plenty which if you are buying plenty an use the free coupon from the sun last week means a bonus 50p off your shopping lol!!!!

Thanks for pointing this out - I picked up a copy last night and didn't notice that coupon! Every little (coupon) helps!

I'm actually quite excited about going to Mr T's this week armed with as many coupons as I can get my grubby little mitts on, a copy of the policy from page 1, nerves of steel and a desire to find a nice young man who will gladly take my coupons - have I missed anything???
Wish me luck and thanks for keeping me entertained this evening:D
Hi all! So I finally got myself to Mr T's, armed with my vouchers, found a nice young man et voila! £13 off my shopping:j They wouldn't take any internet coupons that weren't "safe" but hey I was a very happy bunny:D
Thank you all so much, as they say, every little helps

I was under the impression that if there is a branch of the competitor near your store then they will take the coupon , but if the coupon you are offering is from a store that is not within a certain radius, then there is no advantage for the store to take it...iyswim...
Nope...I am pleased to say that proximity of the rival is not part of the policy at all on spend & save vouchers. Stores like to make that bit up as a reason to refuse a voucher they know is a loss-leader, but it's norty of them to say that and not right (as per Head Office policy).
I have been there, done that & argued (& won!) in the past on that very subject!
In the Summer I bought loads of the Sun when it had those Morrisons fivers in it - and there is no Morrisons within many miles around here. I knew as soon as it was reported on the Daily newspaper thread that all Tesco stores should certainly 'have to' accept it (and that it would scan) but it took a few days to get it into their heads every time I produced one, that it was OK. I did avoid the known jobsworths though as I don't actually like arguing much!
The policy is 'any major Supermarket'. That's all (not 'within a certain radius').
Some stores think it's Sainsburys only but it's not, it was just that Sainsbugs used to be the only store who issued spend & saves at first. Things are different now and there is the potential for any major Supermarket to issue such vouchers - hence the wording of the policy.
There is no store discretion on spend & save vouchers at all - if you've spent the minimum and the voucher fits the policy (and is in date and scans) then Tesco are meant to accept it. You are right there is no advantage where the rival is not local - but Tesco introduced the policy many years ago and it's a national one, not a local one.
Dundee ended up having to refund some people their fivers in the Summer when droves of peeps were wrongly turned down with their Morrisons vouchers. But just think how many people believed the refusal and threw the fivers away!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
