After the data input cards had been 'punched' with all those hundreds of little rectangular holes , they had to be sorted...bully operated the ' sorter' ( once again a big machine) and even today I can hear the noise of the whole room..cards being punched, click click click...cards sorted and then tabulated...and the computer tapes whirring...dare I mention the fact that after that job went up the swannee( when computers got smaller and needed less peeps circa 1961) I worked for the police and actually sent and received messages via police boxes ( think TARDIS)...now all that was before the police had 2 way radios let alone mobile phones....ahh the good old days !!!
Apols for digressing from internet coupons peeps...got a bit carried away with reminiscing..
Thanks for the latest couponnnet post m4rtin, but can't get onto it at the mo ...reckon everyone and their brother is downloading them right now.!!!

Thanks for all your replies - I've already cut down the amount I spend on each shop and go in probably 4 times a week from once a week (or even every other sometimes). I always make a point of 'popping in' if I fill the cars up - I've got 2 x 5p offs to use by Friday so I will HAVE to go in again. I will probably do it in 2 trips on different days and bump up my shops that way this week. Good news, I managed to get another £4.99 Purina Dog coupon this morning on my father-in-laws account - fantastic.

where do u get this coupon from please :confused:

He had applied last month and not looked at his emails (he's over 70!) so I checked them for him and there it was! You can't register for it any more as far as I am aware.
If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try - oh bu99er that just cheat :D
  • I registered with Pampers last week and have just been sent £4 worth of MOC, worth a try signing up. Apologies if this has already been posted.

Mad was working on mainframes and mid-range (AS400) up until 2000. Still ran the tapes on the reels then (also 30000 carts). Had great tape ring fights :rotfl: Used to get through three pallets of A4 paper on a print run during the night shift  Managed to blow up a manhattan printer one time. Blamed it on the damp paper that had been delivered, truth was Mad spilt his can of coke over the electrics:rotfl:

More of a nerd, I think. Being a geek involves sci-fi. Or Rosenborg cheese. I forget which.
