Take That Tickets to raffle - advice please

We have had a charity raffle for the last 2 years.
1st Year we sold the tickets at £2 each, and raised £1500 (after prizes)
2nd Year we sold them at £1 a ticket and raised £2500 (after prizes)

Many people I approached said " £2 a ticket!!!" Where as the same people got more than 1 ticket when they were £1 each this time.

I'd say the cloakroom tickets, at £1 per ticket. I'd imagine most people would buy a strip at £5, but with the way of £1 then they can buy as many as they'd like.

hope you sell hundreds or evne thousands ,like the other posters have said if you sell them for £1 then people will buy lots more you could say that if they buy £10.00 worths then they get £5.00 worth of tickets free,just buy lots of raffle tickets book to keep costs down,take them around the local schools & ask business's to sell some.

I'll be honest and say I'm not sure where you stand for running the raffle legally - as it's not a registered charity. Assuming you have the licence sorted, there are a few things you will have to do though.

if you're not selling them at a single event, then you mustn't use cloakroom tickets, you'll need printed tickets with all the info on them.

two, for ANY raffle, you can't do the last suggestion of buy a certain number get a number free, this changes the odds of the raffle depending on how many you buy, and is illegal. (It's a lovely idea, i'd love to do it, but you can't).

Honestly, I'd sell them on ebay and raffle something else. People buy tickets for two reasons: to donate to a charity or because the prize is great. Realistically you don't make that much money from the first reason and how many people will you find who would want to see take that in wembley?

On ebay you can put it on buy it now and you can guarantee a certain amount of money. With a raffle you can end up with far less. In this case I'd play it safe unless you've got a certain and large market

I was worried about Ebay for the reason of being scammed.
They could say they never received the tickets, bid on them, not want to pay money, I've been scammed twice on higher value items so very cautious now.

Thinking of adding in some other prizes maybe and doing it that way.

I wondered if you could advise how you know the part about offering incentives with buying these raffle tickets. We were going to offer buy 4 get 1 free sort of thing, but then I remembered your post. I can't find anything in the policy rules I have from the gambling commission. If you can help, that would be great, thanks !!!

Essentially, for a typical raffle, you are buying a chance at a rate of odds, so if you do 25p but£1 for 5, then you're offering different odds, which isn't allowed.
