We have rented a widescreen sanyo tv, video and dvd player for years paying around £50 a month. We took it all apart and said you can come and collect it now so that we could buy a new one to stop paying that high rental fee. It helped us at the time though to rent but as these packages are much cheaper now it seems better…

I shared a university owned house with several other students and we realised it was costing us a fortune down the laundrette. we realised that if we pooled our money we could buy a washing machine so we bought a second hand re-conditioned twin tub. When we all left we left it in the house for the next lot of undergrads.
