Mobiles2yourdoor - your experience please

Hello,

after making horrible experience with E2save and OneStopPhoneShop I am looking for other providers of cash back mobile phone offers. I came across
www.mobiles2yourdoor.co.uk

I e-mailed their customerservice but I didn't receive any reply - this was in November 2008. So for a start, this is not a good experience...

What is your personal experience with www.mobiles2yourdoor.co.uk ?
Do they reply to your emails?
Are they honest/reliable?
Do they pay out cashback?
Or do they try to get around it by claiming you sent the wrong bill (like E2save/OneStopPhoneShop) although your cash back claim was perfectly okay?

I do not want to end up again with a crappy company like E2save!

Thank-you!

If you're new to cashbacks I would suggest reading MobileJunkies Cashback for Dummies thread.

  • As suggested, read those threads, but just a few pointers.

My experience with M2YD has been reasonable. Recently I received my first chequeback cheque, 24 days after posting it. I chased it up, but this turned out to be unnecessary.

They generally do reply to emails, but not all. Often, you have to email talktous@phones4u.co.uk with a subject line suggesting some urgency to get a response, for the more intricate questions.

As far as honesty goes, I wouldn't trust any mobile cashback company... but still use them happily. They quite clearly would prefer not to lose money from you and so would revel in your failure to match their T&C or in the case of some companies, behave more sinister. This shouldn't be a problem.

As to your last two questions, they don't really matter provided you are sure about your terms and conditions before purchasing, are able to follow them and can prove that you have. The general consensus, in any case, is that they are relatively good.

The only real issue, in the current climate where retailers are dropping like flies, is whether or not Phones4U survive the economic downturn. I am relatively sure they will - and have heard the same from several employees in senior positions.

I've decided not to risk it another time with cashback offers and go for a PAYG mobile this time.

I've had no problems with getting my cashback so far. I sent my last claim on 31/12, but it has not tracked on Royal Mail, so I emailed customer.services@mobiles2yourdoor.co.uk
who confirmed that they had received my claim and that I would receive a cheque within 14 days.
