I'm just wondering why you 'need' to change your name. You could carry on using your maiden name for your business: if you tend to pick up repeat business that would certainly make life simpler when people are trying to find you.Signature removed for peace of mind0

Many retired single women would prefer a woman painter and decorator, or a female plumber, sparks, chippie erc. Several female trades people are registered with my local Age Concern as approved contractors.
exactly what I was going to say! Definatley worth contacting your loca social services/ age concern. If you can do other things like repair shelves, put up curtain rails light gardening then these skills are really valued from a woman from older and disabled people. Definately worth getting CRB if you havent got it. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

Hi Savvy_sue,
Thanks for your reply. A few people have asked me that.
I decide to change my name because ive only been running my business for about 18 months and most of my customers at the minute are from word of mouth and i get alot of repeat business from them. Most now know that i got married and lots have asked why my van ect hasnt changed! If i was a few more years down the line and everyone knew me by my maiden name then i dont think i would change it.
Plus it makes it much easier for new customers as they might find it starnge that my van and cards say one name and i want the cheques ect making out to another name.
Thanks Lynzpower and Errata
I will have a look into that and yep im a dab hand with shelving ect
Thanks0
