Hi their,
I am looking for an ISP that offers either:
Offpeak Dial Up Access:
The type that offers all internet calls for a fixed monthly fee under £10.00
Weekdays 6pm - 8am & Weekends, their used to be loads around but I can't find many now.
Or an ISP that offers XX hours per month anytime under £10.00.
I have no need for Broadband as I full permissioned access to very high speed BB at work, which in my own time break etc I can download what I like.
All this other service is for is emails and the odd bit of net shopping.
Many thanks
Jay

Hi Jay and welcome to the Telephone Boards
Have a look at the Fast4 diary thread which offers exactly what you are looking for. As its quite a long running thread best to start reading it towards the end for moreup to date info.
I am with Tesco bb and have been with them for dial up too and if I remember correctly they do a daytime offer so have a look for their leaflet instore or on their website https://www.tesco.net.

Hi snaffler, As a long term user of Fast 4, if you want a cheap dial-up, which is accessible 24/7, includes the cost of calls and is a fixed fee of £6.99 per month, Fast 4 is fine. But as Edinburgh Lass says, read the DIARY thread and take note of the pros & cons. Cheers."0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0

zazizam offer 3 different dialup packages under £10 for anytime usage - the more you pay, the more time you get0

http://www.onetel.co.uk/index.php?node=internet-dialup was good when I used it before I moved to broadband (I still pay less than £14 a month and wouldn't go back to dial-up).
More are listed here: http://www.ispreview.co.uk/new/unmetered.shtml.0 -
I can personally confirm both of these services have been extremely reliable for me with hardly any problems over the past 4 years -
DMCDial - a variety of dial up options including £5.99, £7.99 and £9.99 per month depending on the number of hours you want. Seldom had any reliablility problems. (they used to offer an off peak package with a lower contention ratio - may still do). https://www.dmcdial.net
Firefly - prepay £25 for 100 hours of access whenever you want - with no expiry time. This works out at 0.42p a minute. They even give you two different 0808 freephone access numbers on different networks in the event of one not working - I have never personally experienced a time when both numbers were unobtainable. I can't tell you if their backup 0845 number is any good because I have never need it! https://www.fireflyuk.net0 -
OR ---- If your local exchange is LLU enabled you could always get BB from UK online for £9-99 per month (1mb).0

Hi Jay.
I am in a similar position as I am looking for a cheaper ISP than I currently have.
I am wondering which is best too
I'm currently with wanadoo dial-up at 14.99 and have no probs but am trying to get a cheaper deal. I can't have BB as my mum has a lifeline installed..
Best of luck anyway..Best Wishes,
LATP :j0 -
Having read these recommendations, I still say Fast 4 - https://www.fast4.net -
are the cheapest and are now offering a very good service for the money.
Who can beat £6.99 per month, with 24/7 access. If you just want dial-up give them a try!
