I think in the long run it's good, because you re-educate yourself about the value of every last penny, whereas before I didn't think anything of wasting money!

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.
  • One of my dad's favourite sayings is "look after the pennies and the pounds will take care of themselves" - shame it's taken me 31 years to take any notice!!!

yesterday in sainsburys they had meatballs BOGOF but there was'nt another packet, so i took it to the checkout anyway and said what happens now, had to hold the queue up 5 mins while she checked it out with the supervisor, she let me have it at half price. it's those little bits of money that add up.
  • If you were to conact your bank by telephone and explain the situation with your overdraft, they will give you a full refund as a 'good will gesture', (as long as this is the 1st time it has happened) if it is the 2nd you may get half of your charge. I work for 1 of the worlds leading banks :) and this is what we would do if our customer. However if you dont call to moan they will gladly take your £60.00 ! :(

    Hi.
After reading the story about the person who found the pound in the road, it reminded me of a word I made up: surtisfaction
It is a cross between surprise and satisfaction, such as when you find a fiver in the pocket of the jeans you haven't worn for a month. You think "Hey, I'm five pounds better off", and have a feeling of surtisfaction.
    But you're not richer.
You always had the fiver, you just never had the bad feeling of losing it.
In fact, you are actually worse off, since you have been paying the interest on not having it in the bank in the first place.
The moral of this? There is none. Its just an observation.
"Don't critisise what people look like, how they speak, where they are from, and what they are called. They cannot help it.
Do critisise what they say, and what they do, especially if what they say is different to what they do. They can help that"
