    Hi
No your not on your own i'm taking two packets of cheese back to sainsbury's today as they were hard and moldy!Looks like there was a small hole in the packet.
Taking cheese back and getting a refund or replacement is the very basics of haggling and will stand everyone in good stead when the car service comes around.
worked for me got them down from £161 to £140.Haggling is fun!

Hmm, out of little acorns and all that ... I expect most companies rely on our inertia don't they? Maybe I will start being more of a nuisance from now on!

    Dear Loubie Loo,

I think it would be worth writing an apologetic letter to your bank manager about the charges for the unauthorised overdraft. It is a very small amount, and if you explain the circumstances, that it was a genuine oversight, and that you can't really manage the charges,as you want to reduce the loan etc etc, then you may possibly be able to get the charges cancelled. I have done this successfully a couple of times - happens when I am too busy and stressed and forget to keep my cheque book balance up to date (yep, there is a resolution in there!). If it works, well great, if not, it has only cost you a stamp!

    All the best,

    Serena.

  • Hi !

No I don't think you are sad at all.

Riding to work a few days ago on my bicycle. I spotted a pound coin in the road (quite amazing really as usually I am still half asleep).

Promptly did a u-turn and went back to pick it up. Made my day.

Other night at Mcdonalds (using 2 for one big mac voucher)...needed to use cashpoint machine outside ..it wanted to charge £1.75 to with draw my own money !!! It was late, I was hungry...almost agreed then thought no way .I walked 5 minutes to petrol station used free cash point and back to Mc Donald. A 5 minute walk saved me £1.75.

In home base with Mrs Bestthings in life for free collecting (a much needed / saved up for) dining table /chairs reduced from £500 to £220.

Doubted whether could get it in the car, felt lazy to try..was about to go for the £20 home delivery option. Then thought no way with the help of a staff member bit of squeezing, bit of effort etc etc got it all in the car and saved me £20 and the OH was happy as she did not have to wait a week for it to be delivered.

In the past Iwould have not bothered to pick up the coin, paid the ATM fee and the home delivery fee and just wasted £22.75 !!!!!!

To often I have wasted money by being lazy or taking the easy option.

    Not any more.

I bought a self assembly chest of drawers once at B&Q, there was a handle missing so I promptly went back to the store, not only did I ask for another handle but I asked for my bus fare to be reimbursed because of the extra journey, I got it too. 1a_y_grin.gif

We can buy things if we want to but probley only if we absolutley have to.
We will have money in our banks and savings and we will still always look after the penny's because thats what we did when we started off.
