My 21.15 to 12.45 turned into two hours. Shoulders are killing, but the paperwork is now in vague piles. Still missing my P60 though which is infuriating. My lovely colleague has now e-mailed me the figures I need so must remember to take some biscuits in tomorrow.

Well Toots I got fairly distracted looking at the mankiness of my microwave but its now clean so thats ok.

Hi carol, your post just reminded me of a great way to clean a dirty microwave...
my lot just put stuff in there without covering it, so it spits all over the inside. So now I just fill a cup with a few drops of bleach and tip it up with water (not too full) then put it on for about 3 minutes. the steam makes everything soft and REALLY easy to just wipe clean, and the bleach gets into all the nooks and crannies killing any germs... nice and easy. (if you don't like using bleach, just use water and some disinfectant or a small drop of w/up liquid)...
Flower - I've got a teenage boy (joy of joy I'll have 2 in a couple of months). I am an evil witch. I stand at the washing machine saying I am doing a black wash now bring me your troussers, socks and shorts - they do - whatever they are doing they will have to stop and go and get them. PE kit on the floor I go into the living room and say please take the pe kit upstairs now and put it in the wash, they have to do it. If they don't do it straight away they will forget so I don't give them that opportunity. They still don't do it independantly but saves me stressing.

I'm normally pretty good at nagging till they do it - I won't have anything left in the front room, coats have to hang up, shoes in their bedroom, etc., but although I ask about washing (about 10 times), they say they've done it, then once I've finished, there's suddenly a big pile in the washbin an hour later... I am really sick of it, so I only asked once this time, each time I said do your room he was given the chance to get it - hence todays situation...

I'm about to start on his room, and as he will be home soon, he can help (he hates that... he he, maybe I am evil...;) )

OK, lunch finished, onwards and upwards...

ETA: Oooh, my HHC before my lunch turned into a HHI (just in case Valli's watching... :) ) I ironed the bedding...

  • Happy Birthday Nicki! Hope you have a great day.
Got a fair amount done in my HHC.
    • collected all dirty washing
    • hung up all clean washing
    • collected all hair bobbles
    • collected all jewellery
    • binbag dance (must move bag before DD1 gets home from school and sees what I've thrown away and retrieves half of it!)
    • polished desk and window ledge
Not quite there yet but its beginning to look a bit better. Would have done more but DD2 woke up and I wanted to get her up as quickly as possible so I could tell her what a good girl she was staying in bed after last night's shenannigans! She woke up at 1.15am and kept getting out of bed until she finally fell asleep at about 3am ish.

So an early night needed tonight by all. Hopefully she'll stay in bed tonight.

Had this soup for my lunch minus the blue cheese. Very nice. Especially when the celery was 1/4 of the price in the staff shop last week. :Thttp://www.deliaonline.com/recipes/celery-soup-with-blue-cheese,855,RC.html

Will take DD2 up with me to do a bit more on DD1's bedroom. Hopefully she'll resist the urge to empty every cupboard as I'm tidying.

Forgot to say...I liked the stories too GnB & Flyladyflower
Toots...Have fowarded a few of your funny/nice stories today to my friends and the 'and the fight starts....' one to DH!
