Tape worm are very segmented.. like flat white squares stuck together (sometimes looks like rice in the poop), round worms are usually about 4 inches long and look like white earth worms which are curled in a spiral (vomitted usually but can be pooped). Ring worm is a fungal infection. white maggoty things from your cat.. about 1/2-1 inch long are flea larvae!!

They're from his bottom - so I don't think it's fleas, but they do look remarkably like little grains of rice - maybe tapeworm?
Other than wormy squirty stuff on cat, should I be doing anything else? (i.e. treating us? - and with what?)

    Thanks

you won't get tapeworm from the cat... the segments that are pooped are FULL of eggs so keep other animals away from it and treat them if you can too. The expelled bits can still wriggle sometimes. You can get roundworm though.. and if children get it it can make them blind. Sounds tapewormy to me.

The wormy tablets dissolve the scolex (head) and the dead worm is expelled.. soemtimes still wriggling.. the drops usually dissolve the whole thing.. it is really gross..

  • Eeeuuuggh I remember worming my puppy for the first time, the breeders hadn't bothered worming him as the litter was an accident and he was the first one to go.

My beautiful husky puppy with his lovely round pot belly turned into a svelt little thing after expelling what I can only describe as spaghetti with a poo sauce!

Seriously looked like something from a sci fi movie. Thanks Drontal!
