    Happy payday all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Despite claims of a minimalistic non-spendy day I blew £2.16 at the Post Office dispatching E-bay parcels (total E-bay profit after all expenses £39.99) then returned home to assist OH in caking the driveway in hot liquid wax. In theory it was going inside his chassis to prevent it rusting but since its applied using a very high pressure air compressor and a spray thingy with 360 degree cover, oh and the important bit we'd overlooked, the chassis is full of holes where the bolts to attach things to it go. Its fair to say this did not go entirely to plan. Still the drive will never rust, nor will my trainers, overalls, jeans etc.etc. Haivng scraped that lot off I did all available ironing and spent an eternity on the hunt for home insurance finally emerging victorious with a £148 policy which gives me more cover than I wanted with a £50 excess and if I've wangled it correctly £25 Quidco too, although I'm a wee bit dubious about that thanks to the exclusions of the offer which exclude anyone who has used compare the meerkat et.al. which I did to gain an extra £3 Quidco cashback. Still it was still £40 cheaper than everyone else before cashback. At least its over and done with for another year. Even if the money grabbing shysters did want an extra 16% for spreading the payments over the year or a shiny pound for slappng it on plastic fantastic. Bit the bullet and used the cash left over from last payday plus the child benefit that conveniently landed in my account yesterday to cover that up front without charge. Insert smug g!t smiley.

Have fallen off the DooYoo bandwagon already. Didn't review anything at all yesterday. I was totally and utterly lacking in enthusiasm having bored myself to death with form filling for insurance quotes. Also need to do some housework as the Paddy the chinchilla has decided to turf the contents of his cage onto the carpet, dog has since rolled in it and spread sawdust throughout the house. Bin men come this morning so need to run round like a looney filling that. I have lots of things to go including a plastic greenhouse which has suffered an irreparable amount of wind damage and a huge pile of bricks which I 'm donating to wheelie bin heaven a brick at a time.

Still yawning away. Its far too early to be thinking productive thoughts.

After sundays very long day with OH decided to let the DDs lie in yesterday leaving OH in charge DD2 escaped an ear bending at school yesterday for not having a tie or a PE kit or removed traces of breakfast from her face or even having introduced her head to a hairbrush with the fantastic explanation my daddy brought me this morning. Normality resumes today.

OH is in bed with man-flu. Thankfully he got bored of telling me of his aches and pains yesterday and vegged out for 6 hours in front of the PC watching back to back episodes of the Sara Connor Chronicles. Hes off work poorly sick today. Hopefully he'll make enough of a recovery to take the DDs swimming otherwise I'll have to leave work to do that and then go back again afterwards to finish off so I probably won't get done until close to 10pm. Bleugh.

Learnt lots of things I wasn't supposed to know yesterday thanks to an impromptu visit from a bunch of builders who wanted to show their plumber the boiler romm. Worst case scenario project buil it! comences at school in two weeks time for 7 weeks of 7 day working 8am-8pm. I'm sure schools neighbours will love that. Means I need to speed up my emptying of all the affected rooms.

Have done todays DooYoos already. Decided to prioritise that over my surfing in the hopes I do manage to wedge them into my morning before others comandere the PC. I'm almost at the 20% mark whooppeeeeeeee.

The challenge just got a whole heap more challenging. Despite it only being Day 17 of a 4 month challenge I've already blown over 25% of my budget and now have £2949.74p to see me through to New Years Day.

On a distinctly positive note I've booked and paid for our holiday. Not the camper van we were planning because despite the companies yes we have one available oops no we don't but you can have it a week before that - am I that green looking? When we went to look we discovered there wasn't room to swing a cat or more importantly to allow an arthritic dog to lie down in comfort. So onto impromptu plan B a pet friendly static caravan on a 100 acre site surrounded by woodland in the New Forest with a heated swimming pool. Ticks every box without breaking the bank. It does mean we need to get a towing hitch fitted to OHs car for the bike rack so that we can take bikes with us but thats more a long term investment and it still works out cheaper than the camper van and its 18 MPG fuel consumption.

Ended up takiing the DDs swimming in the end, picked them up fish and chips on the way home, dropped them off with OH and then went back to work. OH attempted to be helpful by microwaving two jacket potatoes for 10 minutes but I wasn't feeling overly hungry and opening the microwave door to find two prunes didn't really help my appetite. Clearly a glass of wine as dinner is not a good move but I did have a really good nights sleep.

DooYoos done. 5 minutes more surf time before I start waking the monkeys.

Ugh. OH has shared his lurgi. I'm feeling rather pants and completely cream crackered. Can't be bothered doing anything which isn't good as theres tons to do. If I don't do it it'll just sit there looking at me driving me nuts. I've utilised my housework avoidance tactics to the best of my abilities and have written three extra DooYoo but the PC helpfully ate one,so I've only actually uploaded 2. Trying to decide if I'm better off in bed but then that means I'll have to get up again and I probably won't want to. Oh woe is me.

Feeling tired but margially more human today. Taking things easy meaning I've done sweet f.a. so far. Still not going anywhere or doing anything means I'm not going to spend any money either which is probably just as well really.

Have DooYooed the very mediocre book I'm wading through at the mo. Struggling to stay awake though. Thank crunchie its Friday and I don't have to go to work tomorrow. Have dug out a lazy dinner from the bowels of the freezer which just needs reheating with some noodles.

Why is it that the instant you decide something an unexpected something comes along and wrecks your plans. After splurging on the holiday I'm way way over budget for this month already and theres an awful lot of month left. No matter I thought, other than the last two direct debits its not as if I need to spend money on anything else. We've got enough food to see us most of the way to the end of the month without a trip to a supermarket, and as we're off to the wedding shortly after that its pointless buying anything anyway as it'll all go off. We'll only need mik which means I can catch up with myself. Right sorted. Then OH drops the bombshell that hes discussed his sisters wedding list with his mother and hes going to hand over a large wodge of cash instead. Theres me thinking I can find somthing nice, meaningful and not ridiculously expensive. Nope not going to happen. Hes also booked his car in at the end of the month to have a towing hitch fitted to allow us to take the bikes on holiday, on the plus side this means we can use our trailer tent next summer. And finally the school photographer has been, the DDs photo is the nicest one ever and will make fab christmas prezzies for the relics but will cost in the region of £30.

Its always the silly things that add up. We could avoid the towing hitch by hiring bikes on holiday but thats daft when we'll eventually have to fit one anyway. We've had the use of a friends car with one for the last two years and it gets used at least twice a month. Bu thats not going to be available forever.

My "shoites hit the fan" category clearly needs to be bigger than I've allowed. Fortunately this is only a theoretical challenge rather than an Oh heck thats all the money I've got in the world scenario but it makes me wonder how in the heck people on rock bottom minimal income manage to survive from day to day - people of the intenet at the bottom of the food chain I salute you. It takes more ingenuity than I possess.
