We're back and we almost survived the weekend intact. DD1 decided to go pale on Saturday fell asleep in the car at 2pm and slept for 12 hours with a horrrendous temperature. DD2 is now flaked out on the sofa having spent the night vomiting.

Did manage to fit in a visit to the Royal Armouries at Leeds which was both free to enter and very interesting. DD2 found elephant armour fabulous and as theres plenty to see and touch and tons of variety they both had a great time. DD1 was mesmerised by the horse armour. The biggest surprise of the day was the jousting tournament. DDs weren't too bothered about watching it but spent almost an hour at the temporary stables watching the horses being tacked up and asking lots and lots and lots of questions.

Visited a friend who has Jacobs sheep so the DDs got to see day old lambs. Not quite as good as bottle feeding the orphans at their riding school but a very close second.

No sign of any chicks here but their arrival is imminent.

    Hi Lucielle,

DD2 was an awful patient. between pukes she kept asking if she could go to play at her firends house then bursting into tears when I said she was too poorly. Today is pony fun day and shes desperate to go, claiming to be feeling great but she still looks far too pale for my liking. Evil mummy strikes again.

Cashed out of yet another bookie this morning for £28.56 profit although they pay out in Euros so I'm bound to lose a little more during the currency exchange.

Off to feed the oiks before departing for a days painting.

Its payday and I've been overpaid by £50. Not sure if its because I've had yet another stealth payrise or because payroll have screwed up again. Won't find out until I see my wage slip which won't happen for at least another week. Either way for the moment its in my bank account or at least it was. I've already sent it debt busting.

DD2 is now very sweaty and still pukey. Calpol is just about controlling her temperature but it does seeem a bit too ferocious at times. Its days like this when I feel like the wicked witch of the west. The stay at home mum in me wants to be here in case she needs me but then my sensible head points out that shes with her Dad. Shes going to be sick no matter whos there and shes really not bothered who is with her as long as someone is there.

Finally managed to get cash into Moneybookers to avoid paying any transaction charges on my next bookie. Its taken since Thursday. Cash has been matched already but the odds are a million miles away.

Off to spend a fun filled day painting more walls. I'm sick of blue paint!

Turns out its a stealth payrise. No explaination but my wage slip definately shows an increase in my annual salary of 7% compared to last month. Clearly that can't be right. Aw well tis mine for now. All mine mwahhhhhhh.

DD2 now looking vaguely human but with earache which has reduced her to tears and a wobbly tooth which apparently means she can only eat chocolate spread on toast.

Great news on the stealth payrise.

DD2 is clearly a stoic, wanting to play whilst poorly. Wonder who she gets that from? (How are your cat-induced wounds, btw?) Hope you are all on the mend soon, and that the medicinal chocolate spread is helping DD2.

The hand is healing nicely, thank you, just two scabs left to go and it doesn't look like its going to scar.

Feeling particularly carp this morning. DD2 wet her bed sometime around midnight and then insisted I spent the night in her bed being utlised as a pumeling block !!! snot receptacle. Now completely shattered so am allowing myself a very lazy day. Off to school first thing to let the exterior decorators in. not that they'll be doing much as its peeing down with rain. Need to water the school garden clubs seedlings - wonder if I can bribe them to plant some for me. After that Mr Ts beckons.

Hoping I'll find some reasonable footy matches tonight whilst OH is slaving at work. Thats if I don't fall asleep on the sofa again and miss the lot.

The boss appeared briefly yesterday bearing gifts. Unfortunately weedkiller and yet more paint. Must train him better. Hes yet another member of the old caretkaer wouldn't have done that club. I've yet to work out what the previous caretaker did. The guy must have been a genius as he doesn't appear to have done anything much whilst having more hours to do it in. Theres me thinking I was winging it a wee bit having vaguely extended lunch breaks whilst waiting for paint to dry. Not because I was completely engrossed in a book and forgot about time. Tis very nice to be ones own boss although I do miss having people around but the school sound system more than makes up for it. Not sure the occasional visitor appreciates my ecclectic tastes in music as they never seem to stay for very long.

Off to do a chick inspection before hitting the shower. Unsubstantiated rumors suggest that two eggs were seen pipping yesterday. Not that I'm even a teeny weeny bit excited or that I spent the entire day waiting for the broody hen to leave the nest for a nano second to peer inside only to be elsewhere when it eventually happened.

I have this great mental picture of Moo, covered in paint, singing her heart out in an empty school. :D Excellent.

How are the small cheepers? I think we have a young thrush in the back garden - we're getting song like the adults but much higher pitched. S/he's a tuneful little soul...even at 5am. ;)
