Hallo again people of the internete. The weekend is almost over already. Theres no sign of the minus 8 gale force gusting winds nor driving icy snow the forecasters warned of so I presume it will be life as normal next week.

Starting to run low on solid fuel. Have enough coal to get through this week and a cubic metre of stacked seasoned logs after which we're going to be in need of a coal delivery. Have used 1/3rd of our 1000 litre LPG tank in three weeks equating to about £200 in gas but using the heating for two hours a day insteadof the usual one. Fortunately thats on a direct debit but the tank isn't due to be refilled again until June. Can see me phoning them in March to say we've run out.

    Its all doom and gloom.

Thought I'd attempt to have a vaguely structured organised day unlike yesterday where I spent a large chink of it surfing t'interweb and chomping chocolate so have thawed chicken thighs overnight (well that was the general idea but they're still feeling rather frozen) in order to do dinner in the slow cooker.

Thought I'd also transfer all my addresses, phone numbers and birthdays to the PC so I can print out a master list as the one I'm currently using is a wee bit manky. I ingeneously cut the pages out of my diary and stuck them in the next years and repeat. Think I started doing this around 1995 so theres now more selotape than paper. I am a lazy ho.

Further plans for the day involve catching up with myself. Any flylady tasks not completed by the end of today will be ditched and I'll start afresh tomorrow. I've done three times as much cleaning to normal, in fact I don't seem to have done much else but at least its keeping me warm.

Not quite awake yet but I'd have to say things are rather peaceful. The DDs are staying under their mound of duvets and blankets as long as humanly possible.

Moo have you noticed the change in T&C for free scratchcard on Virgin? You have to deposit and spend £5 a month. They are closing accounts if this isn't done so be careful when withdrawing.

They are both closed panels. I'll let you know if I see recruitment ads for them.

Have added the delightful OnePoll to the list of survey companies, have also signed the DDs up for YoungOne Poll. Its not like I have much of alife anyway.

OH snoozing on sofa, DD2 sulking in bed, her DS confiscated as a result of her playing it whilst on the phone to Granny. Using "granny is boring" as an explanation didn't go down too well with OH.

Half the hens have been cleaned out, the other house is still frozen solid. Chopped up enough kindling for the next few days but even that was hard going as its too icy to saw safely.

Slow cooker is bubbling merrily away. Self cleaning kichen is clearly faulty. Will need to mutter about the dishwasher failing to load itself later.

no sign of the 40mph gusting winds that are supposed to be battering us this afternoon but then theres no sign of the next snow storm either.

Bored of being stuck indoors. Its too cold to do anything much although the DDs are keeping me busy. Currently making one of these with DD1 : http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hasbro-1151-Paper-Art-Gorilla/dp/B000H5V2MS

Only 51 pieces but its been almost two hours so far and we're only a third of the way through. Mind you I do keep being sidetracked by DD2 who is making the one on the left all by herself http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tobar-Ltd-Wooden-Dinosaur-various/dp/B000FVXH7C

Apart from chocolate covered cereal buns can anyone come up with something cake like to go in the DDs lunchbox that doesn't require an oven? I have no will power. If I make the chocolatey things I'll eat them all and the DDs will starve. Well not literally but they definately won't last beyond tuesday (cakes not kids).
