Santa is so much quicker to type though.
Meanwhile back on planet moo its been an odd sort of day. Left for work, late as usual uesterday afternoon in glorious sunshine. Two hours later we had 4 inches of snow. Another hour after that when the final child was collected a mere 30 minutes after schools on site childcare shut it was still snowing away merrily. Having had several phone calls with OH and one of the minions who I sent home v.v. early and who still got stuck and ended up abandoning her car I attempted to drive home. Muppet. Home involves a very steep uphill in every direction. Made it as far as the brow of the downhill part of this uphill and watched the car in front of men skate in slow motion into a brink wall having executed two rather spectacular 360 degree pirouettes. Lost my bottle and reversed up the bit of hill that I'd come down arriving back at school 25 minutes after I'd left having travelled a whole 100 metres.
Phoned OH to tell him I would be leavig the car at schooland walking home. He offered to come and get me in the toy Landrover but I couldn't face the idea of him and the DDs driving in it unnescessarily. Not because I doubted his ability but because of all the other moronic lunatics. What imbicile does 40 in a sports car with low profile tyres in the snow? The answer is the bald headed fat one who demolished someones garden wall and continued on their merry way to also trash someone elses car, porch and garage door before getting out (unharmed) and muttering about being late for dinner.
OH is not happy. Apparently I should either have allowed him to come and get me or stayed at school overnight instead. As it was I made it home safely in 50 minutes. Hes adament hes driving me in to school this morning although quite frankly I'd rather walk. Thats assuming its open. The local radio website is full of school closures already including the one in the village the head lives in but sadly ours isn't on it yet. If I didn't work there I wouldn't even be thinking about going in. There are abandoned cars everywhere and drifts up to 18" high where the wind was whipping the snow around as it fell.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Somehow I don't think today is going to go according to plan.
OH is still doing woodworking type things and is still mightily peed off that I insisted on vaccuming aorund him before departing for work. Am ratehr glad I did as the bits I didn't do are still covered in sawdust which includes the floor around our bed. Theres swadust everywhere but it seems a bit daft cleaning up any further until hes done which won't be today as he needs timber and a door and hinges and wot not from the timber merchants. I will beat him around the head if he attempts to go there unnecessarily today. No matter how good his off road abilities are.
Time for a cunning plan part #2. One that involves sledging and snowman building and getting coal out of the bunker in my PJs whichis incidentally my next task of the day. Have bunged the last three pieces on with a log. Hoping they go in which case I'll need to add lots more rather quickly.
Whilst I'm waiting for the world to awaken I figured I'd check out todays Flylady which just happens to be the biggest half of downstairs. Bah humbug. Still at least I don't have any plants to dust, they've already died from lack of attention.

Sometimes moo you scare me, talking about today when its only just bedtime in my house!!
Am going to ignore your frankly scarily early start and utterly terrifying list of fly lady tasks and wish you a good night (note its dark etc etc) and hope the snow doesnt get too much worse (and that you get the day off). It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Still here, still rambling.
Have retrieved a joint of pork from the depth sof the freezer. Assume the DDs will chow like horses if they're spending the day sledging. The field next door is fab for it made all the more entertaining with the addition of a flock of sheep who invariably stand just where you don't want them to.
Have managed to spend money in my sleep as yet more DDs have exited my account. Making things look like this:
Days to payday: 9
Money in purse : zero, zip, nada, zilch.
Money in emergency jam jar: As above and an IOU for £40 to the kids to replace their x-mas money.
Money in bank: £211.35 (cheque from Music Magpie cleared)
Money spent in January: £618.30
Money remaining of this months portion of the live on £20K challenge : £1048.70
Still at least today will be a NSD assuming I don't have to go to school. Fingers crossed as my thighs are aching after yesterday. Clearly I thought I was an awful lot fitter than I am. Perhpas a date with the Wii Fit is in order.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

When Ohs alarm invariably goes off at 4am its pointless going to bed any later.
Its lighter than it was at 7am this morning when the DDs got up, still dark at 7:40am when they leave for school and this morning it was still dark at 8:30am when the teachers started turning up.
It is very pretty out. There aren't any street lights so all I can see is snow for miles and miles. The moon is reflectingoff it making everything bright and sparkly and theres are thousands and thousands of stars in the brief spells between snow showers.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

I guess thats the difference 2030 is home from work on a good day time. I'll take your word for it re the darkness at those hours since I rarely see them - generally when I emerge at 1000 its daylight or what passes for it at the moment. Have to admit I was admiring the stars myself earlier then the clouds closed in again. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Working from home would be fab but I'm not self disciplined enough. I'd fill my day with random twaddle and lots of book reading and it would be bedtime before you know it without me having actually done any paid work. I admire those of you who can structure your day and stick to it to see that you're not sidetracked by the random minutae of life like the collection of books that need reading before they can be decluttered. Guess I'll go review the one I've just finished and then start on the next one.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

Still no news from the boss. Looks like I'll have to get dressed after all. need to leave thehousein 20 minutes to arrive at my usual starting time. Bet I get almost to the door as they announce the place is shut for the day. V. tempted to leave the DDs in bed. Its pointless them getting cold and wet when they can be having fun sledging. Besides which if I was going to take DD2 with me to whinge at snails pace and randomly lose gloves or wander off down peoples driveways then I should have left around 3am. Breakfast and another quick check of the local radio website before it crashes under the deluge of High School pupils relentlessly clicking refresh in the hopes that thier school has been shut in the 2 seconds before they previously clicked refresh.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500
