    Leave the User Name field blank, the default password is admin.

    I've tried this and nothing works, :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

    would the fact that I have set up a password make any difference, the password that is so good I can't remember what it is :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

    If you changed the default password from admin, yes obviously it would make a difference. You could simply press the reset button and set it up again. This is what people who forget their passwords generally have to do.

    You could try this here.

    The eight blobs are irrelevant e.g. the password could have seven characters.

    The password to gain access to the router is not the same passphrase or key that is needed to add devices to your encrypted wireless network!

    right then, when I go through the Wi, I get 2 options
    1 = a manual set up etc

    2 = I can chose from what ever wireless connections are available (on show on the screen) one of which is mine with a padlock on, it then asks for password

    can you enlighten on this, if after all this time it is not the password to get into the router

    thanks

    Continue with the download in post #15 if you can't find the required encryption key in the routers set up screens.
