now Im on the register

I have just looked and I am now on the insolvency register! This in itself does not bother me but what is bothering me is that they have printed all the last three address that I have lived at, one of which is now my sisters home address and I really did not want her address involved. Does anyone know if I can do anything about that? Can I ask the OR to remove it because the mess I am in now had nothing to do with that address? and will it affect my sister at all that her address is shown on the insolvency register?

I have not been at this address for over three years so should they have posted that address?

And does this mean that there would be a notice put in a newspaper local to that address? Or can they only put it local to where I am staying now.

Am feeling a bit worried as don't want family to find out as it will just upset them.

I'm not sure if you can get any details removed but its worth asking. I only have my current address posted on there but I do have my maiden name listed as AKA, alias, etc and I have been married for 20 years and haven't used my maiden name in all that time.

Thanks FYP I might ask, do you think it is worthwhile just emailing them via the link on the site? Or should I call?

  • we were told it only goes in the paper local to the court - not sure if this is right, but if so our court was 30 miles away, so it wouldnt be in our local paper.

I was shocked at how much they put about you on the site - but then i thought 'who the hells going to want to steal my identity - they'd get no credit!' :rotfl:

Yeah they put all the info going back 20 years like you say on the site but the paper only shows current address.

They are quick to update it too as i just let them know i had moved and they have updated that already.

oh well guess there is not much chance of them removing my sisters address then! well it is not likely she will ever search for me and i tried googling myself and it did not come up so I think it should be ok.

Unless of course anyone writes to that address about anything to do with BR which I hope they will not.

  • Have not really thought to much about my name in the paper. I am not going to tell anyone family wise but if they find out so be it.

I know where I work someone who used to work there went BR and everyone knew about it.

DON hopefully your family will not be as interested in looking up the register as you are. Fingers crossed

I know when my ex OH went BR - he didn't live at my address at that time and hadn't for a while but my address and the one prior to mine was listed. I only knew about his BR as a colleague and friend of mine recognised my address in the BR announcements in my local paper - not sure why she was scouring the BR announcements - I've never asked!
