Hi everyone,
Just wondered if any one would be able to direct me to the best round the world ticket company? (If this exists!)
I've got about £1,000 - £1,200 to spend on the flights, and would like to stop in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Brisbane, Auckland/ Chrischurch, Fiji, Tahiti, Los Angeles and then overland to New York before flying home. Looking to do it all in about 2 - 2.5 months from mid June to end of August 2006.
I've come acorss roundtheworldtickets.com - but not amazed by them.
Not expecting anyone to find the flight for me - but a direction to a good/ relevant flight company would be great.
Thanks in advance -

Trailfinders are always professional and helpful (may be cheaper places out there though)0

I used roundtheworld tickets for my RTW ticket and they did me a good deal - especially as i booked it on the monday then travelled 3 days later on the thursday!
You could also try STA travel, they have branches all over the world so if you need to re-route or anything like that there is usually a local branch you can pop into.0 -
STA travel have good offers.
e.g. (virgin atlantic, air new zealand) London, hong kong, sydney, auckland, san francisco, overland, los angeles, London £820.

hope this helps. good luck.0 -
I've been to New Zealand and Christchurch really is a bit boring, I'd go to Queenstown instead. https://www.qantas.co.nz do offer some very good fares on internal flights in NZ.
There is also a bit of a price war between Brisbane and NZ, https://www.virgin-blue.com.au and https://www.freedomair.com so you could get good fares.
What I am saying is you could supplement the main intercontinental flights with cheaper add ons of your own.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Hi
I have just been offered this with Virgin hope it helps?
London - Tokyo 6th Feb
Tokyo - Singapore
Singapore - HK
HK - Singapore
Singapore - Melbourne
Melbourne - Auckland
Auckland - LA (or pos NY)
LA (or NY?) - London
£890 + tax (140) = £10400 -
I think you can download a Star Alliance (Air NewZealand) and One world(?, The BA\ Qantas one) softwares and plan your travels with that.
We have done round the world 3 times while expats and chose the airlines depending on the destinations....
After finding roughly what we wanted, Trailfinders did all the booking for us.I lost my job as a cricket commentator for saying “I don’t want to bore you with the details”.Milton Jones0 -
Your iten suggests you can do the Great Escapade (Virgin, Air NZ, Singapore Air), probably the cheapest.
You can book through STA, but note they will charge credit card transactions.
Remember join up with a frequent flyer programme. May I suggest BMI, and getting a BMI credit card as they are giving 20,000 free miles when you sign up."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -

BTW Direct airlines LHR-HKG include BA, Cathay Pacific, Qantas, Virgin, with Thai Air you would have to go via Bangkok, With Singapore Airlines via Singapore and Air Portugal via Lisbon and Macau.
Air New Zealand have recently upgraded their economy product, I think you get about an inch more legroom.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -

Bargain - is that with Virgin direct - as in just call up their reservations line direct?
