I bought 2 items on 18th Jan using Buy It Now paid immediatley with Paypal, both seperate sellers but so far I've had neither item. I have bought other items after these 2 & almost all have arrived already. I have emailed both sellers twice now but no reply. I know it's only just over a week but I just want to know if these have been posted, am I being unreasonable?
Thanks
Yvonne

Although the majority of people I've met through ebay are trustworthy some are not.I still wouldn't worry just yet. Some people only have restricted access to a pc but dont tell their buyers that, some only post once a week, and if they are on aol its a nightmare LOL....Give it another couple of days if they're still not there by monday try emailing again then report item not arrived on them hopefully they'll turn up in the meantime. Are they definately in this country?? I have got caught out by people before having stuff sent in from overseas.0

I'd allow 2 weeks if the sellers are in the UK, if it's not arrived by then I'd start seriously chasing it up. If you paid with PayPal then you have 45 days from the date of purchase to claim your money back from PP.Blessed are the geeks, for they shall inherit the Internet.0

i guess if they were posting 2nd class then it may just be slow - if it's meant to be 1st class, give it a bit longer before really going after them (although it's not great that they haven't replied to emails about it). if the sellers' feedback is good, give them the benefit of the doubt for a little longer!:happyhear0

Send an email asking politely when the item will be dispatched.
It could be that they have sent it but it has went awol in the post. Happened to me the other day, I had no idea till the buyer asked about it.

Like *Louise* says I would email the seller and ask for a despatch date. As a buyer though I always use paypal so would expect my item in about a week. I would probably email the seller by about day 9 if the item hadn't arrived.

As with the other thread currently running I am horrified at the standard of service people find acceptable to offer or accept whilst dealing on EBay. In my opinion items should be posted within 48 hours (barring unforseen circumstances). If that is going to be a problem folk should end auctions to tie in when they can get to PO. If there is going to be a delay I think it is inly good practice to informyour buyer. Rant over!!
In this case I would e-mail them before the weekend (and maybe phone..but I understand why some people are not keen to do that) and if you have no joy I would start a chargeback after your post has arrived Monday.0 -
It says in the ebay/paypal rules that a week is an acceptable time for a parcel to be posted. Given it might take 3 days to get to it's destination that makes 10 days after the auction ending. You could always ask ebay for the contact telephone number of the seller here:

They will get an email informing them you've asked for the contact details and sometimes just that email alone is enough to make them pull their finger out.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -

What ebay/paypal really mean is please do not start bothering us until at least a week has passed! I don't think it is acceptable on normal day to day business to wait a week to post an item. Especially if you quote 1st class post or better; if buyers are paying for that service then they should expect the item within 3/4 (business) days. Otherwise what is the point in offering 1st class post?0 -
I get really ticked off about this. I don't mind at all if I get an email telling me sorry there's a delay, or a specific date of dispatch. Its what I do for my buyers and what I hope for from sellers.
I have a little guilty trick though. I send an email asking if they could confirm dispatch or let me know when, very friendly, as I'm hoping to give the item as a birthday gift on such and such a day. 9 times oout of ten, the item has arrived ready for that day.0 -
I'm not saying I agree either but I use it as a safety net. Most of the items I post out are done within a couple of days of receiving payment. But if any disaster happens like I'm ill, one of the children are off school or I'm away for the weekend I will tell the buyer that I am within my rights to post up to 7 days after payment. Think I've only had to do it once though.Hintza wrote:What ebay/paypal really mean is please do not start bothering us until at least a week has passed!
