    I understand totally.

I only use one cheque a month to pay my credit card bill at the bank's local branch

Out of interest, is there any reason you don't pay that by debit card, direct debit, etc?

I can't pay by debit card and I have a direct debit set up for the minimum payment. I top up each month with a cheque. Its easy for me to get to the branch too as I practically live next door to it.

Which CC and bank is it, if you don't mind me asking? Cos you might save time, and the payment might reach the company faster, if you paid via bank transfer.

Or at least doing the BGC as cash instead of cheque, to cut out the cheque clearing and leave just bulk clearing.

How does HSBC do it, since you don't process work in branches?

I'm guessing that you credit a suspense account with the cash, and then send your BGCs off with one debit to said account?

My local HSBC seem to have little booklets with 22 trans codes on them or something.
