BT broadband

Hi, i have been shopping around, like martin keeps telling us, i have been with, BT for years, before christmas i had 2 phone calls off agencies , to say, considering i am a long standing customer, they could offer me £2.00 off my broadband. I declined and waited for my contract date to come, and then i rang BT themselves, i was put throught to the retention, department, there, i have been offered a 12 month, contract, going from £24.99, per month down to £13.20. per month. Which is a lot better than having, £2.00 lol off. Thank you all for this web site. I will certainly ( haggle ) a bit more, and it is well worth it.:T

Just had a very similar experience.

My 18 month tie in for BT Broadband and 12 month tie in for free evening and weekend calls are about to end. BT called me twice in the last few weeks to offer the £2 per month broadband reduction (and increased download allowance from 5Gb to 6Gb) in return for a new 12 month tie in. Seperately, I got a letter offering to continue free evening and weekend calls in return for a new 12 month tie in.

I refused these offers. Rang BT and asked for MAC code so I could change to Post Office phone & broadband (best package for me). I was transferred to a "retention" person. I was offered phone, free evening and weekend calls, broadband (10 Gb limit) and discounted overseas calls for £16.58 per month (12 month contract) including line rental.

It worked - I'm staying with BT
