Bought some dishwasher tablets from cheapy store and they are absolutely rubbish. They did not clean and also left a white gritty film over everything - I thought my dishwasher was broken at first. I was going to just bin them but before I do are there any other uses for them ? Slug killer would be good, the pesky things have just eaten my baby lettuces !!!:rotfl:

maybe you could cut them in half and put them in the toilet bowl and leave overnight.

No idea, as I've never had a DW, but there are suggestions in this thread. I'll add this later once you have more suggestions :)

Dont know how much truth is in it but was advised by a washing machine repair man that a dish washer tablet used in the drawer of washing machine was as good if not better than using calgon for reducing limescale build up.

If you have any pans or pyrex you need to get clean fill with very hot water and add a dishwasher tablet. I also melt a few in the sink and add the bits of the oven and cooker and they come up sparkling. I have even disolved a few in a bucket of water and cleaned the front doorstep.

I wet them until they are crumbly and use them with a cloth to clean my stainless steel hob - great biological cleaner without being abrasive.
