Ames, so far it's fantastic. It's so far an object lesson on viewpoint - leading to misunderstanding when you don't understand the other person's viewpoint - with a healthy dose of atheism thrown in. Sounds crap? That's because I'm not Terry Pratchett
Highly, highly recommended!
Edit: Also, like you said, it's not Discworld - but he shows in this he doesn't need the artificial construct of Discworld to do what he wants.Virtual sealed pot challenge #036 - 19/01/09-1/12/09 = £483.71/£750

Bathgate - I know that wasn't meant to be funny but the bit about the icebergs has made me laugh out loud, you have so cheered me up :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

What about the library
Exactly. I've gotten over my addiction to buying books, and now I use the library a lot more.
I won't say beg, borrow or steal a copy...but beg or borrow is perfectly acceptableVirtual sealed pot challenge #036 - 19/01/09-1/12/09 = £483.71/£750

It's be Italian armies marching downstairs I'll be dreaming off tonight. I'm sure I'll kill them off with some bagpipe music played ad infinitum. Oooooh Braveheart v The Romans. Could get interesting.
I can't take Titanic seriously at the best of times. Like Misery and Silence of the Lamb, I always think of the version French and Saunders did!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
This should probably go in the mortgage forum but a) they probably already know it and b) this is the page I'm on right now
My mortgage deal ends this month, and I had a meeting with the mortgage advisor at Nationwide a week or so back. Once all the important details had been sorted out, I said I wanted to change the date of my payment from the 28th of every month to something close to the start of the month; I changed jobs last year and instead of being paid on a standard day i'm now paid on the penultimate day of the month. No problems changing the date, but he made the interesting comment that since interest on the mortgage is calculated daily it makes more sense to pay it as early in the month as possible. Despite various spreadsheets and a s**tload of personal calculation, that factor has never dawned on me!
Probably wise at this point to say I never read the mortgage-free wannabe forum (why?!?!?!) but now i'm thinking I should.
Totally off-topic, as far as this thread has a topic - but maybe this may make other people think!Virtual sealed pot challenge #036 - 19/01/09-1/12/09 = £483.71/£750
