Saturday 17/1/09 What small dfw things have you done today???

:DWhen we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D

Today i will:
  • check online banking -
  • update spreadsheets
  • move money to savings
  • Make a loaf in breadmaker
  • storecupbpard meals
  • clean flat with stardrops and microfibre cloths
  • laundry hokey cokey for OH
  • reduce, reuse,recycle one thing -
  • do one thing just for fun -
  • do something nice for someone else
  • sparkle
Good morning dfw's, Have a great day everyone, hugs to all the poorly people and anyone feeling a bit down. Hi to any new posters and hi to all the regular posters:hello: :hello: :hello: Woo Hoo it's Saturday, the weekend has arrived:j :j may have a trip into town later just for a mooch about, need to get eggs but apart from that not much else.:D
Orange and black stripey socks today (halloween feet!) they haven't been worn for a while so felt sorry for them;) .
Hve a great day everyone, see you later.

Trying to be second - will edit post

    Made it -

Hello everyone.....sorry I've not posted for a couple of days, I have been out after work, and I have been going to bed really early.

    My recent DFW things are:
    • an hours overtime before work each morning this week
    • charged my phone up at work
    • breakfast and lunch from home
    • I think that I managed a couple of NSD's
    • swept all my spare cash from my main bank accounts to savings accounts to get a bit more interest
    • spoke to friends on facebook rather than texting/calling
    • spoke to my supervisor (who was moving companies) on Thursday and jokingly asked are you looking for staff at your new place? - she has my details

Oh, I also signed up for college - not DFW but hwn I pass the course, I will be a qualified book keeper, so I should be able to earn more money.

    Today I will:
    • walk into town to meet a friend, and if the weather dries up, I will go for a walk with her rather if it is still raining, we will have a coffee
    • go to the library and see if there is aything there that interests me
    • try to have a LSD
    • enter more cometitions online and through trashy magazines

I think that is about it
    Take carem,
    Candy xx

Gosh, Third! Unheard of previously. Yesterday I took an unwanted Xmas present back to M&S and used the resultant credit note to buy some nice things in the food hall:j . Not sure if this counts as moneysaving (after all it was spending) but returned an item that I would never use in exchange for nice food for the whole family. There isn't a M&S store near us, so I had to make a special trip. However, I had to do an errand for work, and that means that I can claim back the train fare (esp as it was my day off really).
    Today I have:
    checked online banking
had lovely porridge and strawberries for breakfast (I have run out of bananas and had a reduced tin of strawberries in the cupboard so had some of those).

    In a bit I will:
    See to chooks
    Tidy up a bit
Go to see my DD and her little one. What with work and her living some distance away, I don't see her that often, so looking forward to this.

Have a lovely day everyone :hello:

    • update spreadsheets
    • keep heating off as long as possible
    • walk up & down the stairs for 20 mins to save joining a gym
    Have a great day everyone

    Good Morning Everyone

Thanks to SM for starting the thread this am (and every morning!).

The sun is shining, birds are singing, its my birthday next week and I am going on holiday!!!!!!!!:j

Been really busy this week - I am finishing off my evening course on thursday evenings which pretty much means I don't get to do anything DFW and last night I went to my voluntary role.

I am going on holiday on Monday so will be rushing around like a mad thing trying to get everything done! Here's my list
    • Clear kitchen
    • Clear bathroom
    • Clear living room
    • clear bedroom
    • Vacuum
    • washing and airer dry
    • deal with handwashing
    • ironing
    • finish minutes for work as promised
    • make a list for handluggage items
    • grab some books from the 'unread' pile to take on hols (maybe books I don't want to keep so I can leave them behind if necessary)
    • Register as self employed
    • Finish packing
    • Try on t-shirts to make sure they all fit and that I have enough for the week
    • List outfits
    • Call friends to complete arrangements for meal tonight to celebrate my birthday (which is while I am away!)
    • Update holiday details and email to family.
    • Transfer money to current account to cover a payment Done
    • pack up some clutter and give to people who want it
    • Find passport!!! Done
    • Hope my cheque for my old phone arrives - £50 woo hoo! I wouldn't have even known about it without Martin! :money:
    • Try and entertain BF who has done all of his packing as he has had the last three days off grrrrrr!
    • Eat the perishables before we go and pack up the rest to give to parents/friends.
Okay - have to get on with mammoth list (not on Andan's scale) but will take ages.

    Have a great day everyone.
