Hi
As in the name I'm a little slow at the moneysaving lark (although have been a regular on the site for years)
I've found a corner sofa from Homebase here it's £332 with an NHS discount I have this weekend only......is this a good buy or should I be saying goodbye to it??

if not this then any other suggestions? Up to £500 really so is the above the best price for the quality I would get at that price range?
Help!!
Any advice welcome

looks okay for the price but you do get what you pay for0

If it's any help I've got quite a bit of furniture from Homebase in the past, and it's all been good quality. My bed is from there and is sooooo comfy ;o)
Never had a sofa from them though....0 -
It looks lovely apart from the cushions at the back don't look fixed so would be always falling off.0

I've got a corner leather sofa from homebase and it's been brilliant. Really comfy and no different from the day i bought it really. Go for it, looks nice. .... infact i'm selling mine if you want it !!! ( not that i want to, but moving house with Girlfriend and she wants a bigger suite )0

That one didn't feel as if it had enough 'stuffing' in it, when we tried it, so bought the stone coloured, big version of http://www.homebase.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=20001&partNumber=1745553&Trail=searchtext%3EYORK
They've had to swap it, 'cos of not supplying it all matching & a stain on it, but everyone thinks it looks good. It was reduced to £600ish & we bought on 10% weekend.Oddly enough, they actually made the BIG combination CHEAPER than the set up, youy'd buy - you could always sell/freecycle the part you didn't need!!
As it's not on offer currently, maybe it'll be reduced next month - in time for next 10% weekend. Can you combine a NHS discount on a 10% purchase?
As earlier Monesaver has, as ell, we've bought LOADS furniture for our new house from Argos/Homebase & it's all looked fine & is NOT as dear as some of it looks!!

6 & 2x 3's.
You want a cheap sofa, you dont pay alot of cash. The sofa falls apart after 2 years, your happy with it as it was only cheap.
I have 2 kids under 6, so i will never buy a sofa over £1000, as it will be trashed.
If your happy with it, buy it....0 -

just be careful about its size - looks to be about 12foot at the long end.Best regards

Agree with the comment about the cushion backs. I'm a little OCD when it comes to keeping my house tidy, and I think those kind of cushions would really annoy me...
More importantly, look at the review for the same sofa in natural... Doesn't inspire confidence.
Might be worth looking elsewhere to see if there's any other deals out there first?0 -
Hi all
Thank you sooo much for all your responses - in the end, we went and looked at it and my BF decided it was too low for him. Other than that it is ok - a little less squishy than nice but, as they say, you get what you pay for :-)
We've decided to head to DFS instead as a few friends/family have recommended them. Has anyone got any advice when dealing with them as a company? Or horror stories!? Prob gonna get something in the £400-500 range and they've got a sale on at the mo.....
I'll keep you posted!
thanks0 -
and they've got a sale on at the mo.....
Not used them myself but a google for DFS will throw up a grood crop of horror stories0
