Currently I pay a rediculous amount for my internet access via WAP or GPRS - Anyone got any info on cheap mobile deals? preferably high speed too!

  • Try and get hold of a 3G PAYG sim card on Orange as they charge 55p per Mb for free internet access. This is not to be confused with Orange world and double check this is the current price for normal internet access before getting one. I cannotr stress how important it is that you ensure they let you have normal internet access and they do not charge you for Orange world access as that is a value added service.

The other networks are charging quite high costs for PAYG / contract data rates and Orange appears to be the cheapest out there.

Let us know how you get on.

I went into the Orange Shop today to ask about this and I was told you either get Orange World, or nothing. The assistant said there is no other 'normal internet access'.

    Any further info on this?

Tim_n I'm interested to see how you get on - keep us updated ;-)

You can find 3g datacard deals that start at a few quid and go up to £40 or £50 a month for 1GB bandwidth. 200 or 250 MB deals around £20 or £25.

I've read that Onspeed will have a mobile version in the next month or two, which should speed up gprs browsing quite a bit. But it seems to me that the same product in the pc would have the same effect.
