I game a bit...and I haven't booted into vista yet this week, W7 is very stable (besides the BSODs that I had....memory voltage too low...my bad
)
why not buy the machine and throw the 7 beta on it if you don't have an OS
Hi,
I see your point. Just heard so many bad things about Vista that I dont want it anywhere near my machine. I suppose I could build a machine from scratch and install XP and get the W7 beta. Do you know the best place I could get the parts from?
Ideally i'm looking for a dual or quad processor (4Ghz plus) and a graphics card of 512Mb plus. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
MM0 -
Vista is fine. As you say, you've "heard" bad things. SP1 fixed pretty much all of them.
You can install W7 BETA onto a blank hard drive so no need to buy XP.Conor

Ive been using it for a week on this laptop. It installed in about half an hour and it works fine. Its so much better than vista and seems faster too. Id recommend anyone to give it a go. It's what visat should have been like instead of the rubbish we got.0

I've installed it in a VM in Ubuntu and it seems OK better than Vista, Installed in 30 minutes and connected to net ok, seems quite responsive even in a VM.0
