Exchange old mobile
I have an old Samsung mobile (locked on T Mobile)in good condition. Heard that you can exchange your old phone and buy a new one of the high street stores. Apparently, they pay you a tenner for the old phone. Does anyone know if this is true? and if yes..which store offers this?
I want to go for a cheap phone (Pay as u go), on any network.
Cheers.

It is true, cpw usually do it, but £10 isn't much.
You will be better selling your phone on a popular auction site and the sale will pay for your new phone (or part of it). Smile, you only get one life, LIVE IT.0 -
Orange do too, what model is it? Could give you an idea of what it's worth...2p off is still 2p off!0

eBay it - CPW will only pay upto £10-15 for a payg ONLY if you have the charger AND the manual. Better off on ebay generally:)

If you are in the market for a new contract and Orange is the best one for you then they will buy back any old handset on a new connection. If you are not in the position to take out a new contract then ebay would be better. Otherwise get it unlocked AND debranded and then sell it on ebay.0

I'd have to go with Pummy, if you can get a contract, orange give you £50 for any handset when taking out any new contract. Then you can either use that £50 for money towards a handset (not that theres many you'd have to pay for) or have it as credit on your account..0

I got £100 for a very very old handset from Orange - the only thing they insisted is that you can switch it on. I wouldn't have got £1 on ebay!0

Ask 3 for a PAC before the contract ends.
Transfer it to a PAYG SIM, Virgin was recommended in another thread.
Then get the number transfered to you new contract SIM (e.g. Orange)
The PAYG SIM has 2 uses,
1) Stops you losing the number if you contract start after the old contract ends: No overlap
2) Second if you are moving from one Orange contract to another contract it may be worth going via another company PAYG as Orange will not let you transfer your number to a new orange contract directly. Neither will other phone companies.
If your new contract is with ANOTHER company: Not 3, AND the new contract starts BEFORE the old one ends you may not need to go via PAYG SIM, just get the PAC from 3 and transfer.
In the past people have reported problems getting a PAC from their supplier, I know 3 are know for being difficult. If there is a delay tell them you have called OFCOM thet PAC is usually sent to you within the hour
Hope this helps.Seth.0 -

One on eBay has 8 bids and is at £17.00 I would see what trade in price they offer. If it's more than £25 i'd take it instead of the ebay route. If it's less then way up the options, taking into consideration eBay fee's, paypal fee's, postage costs etc...
Good luck. Smile, you only get one life, LIVE IT.0 -
