Visited an out of town branch and it has started. Tempted to wait until later in the week but did buy 2 pairs of shoes that had been £29.99 for £5 each and boots for £11. Also a bra for £2, and a pair of silver earrings for £3.
    Happy shopping!

  • Just found this thread.

I have just recently fallen in love with TK Maxx, we had our final clearance sale last week, I managed to get some cracking bargains for the kids, example, a pair of brown cord trousers for my 4 yr old, 70p!

There was also a Vera Wang dress for a £5, but it was size 8.... ooooh, to me that slim! :rotfl:

But as I was leaving (last Wednesday) all the clearance rails were being removed so I presumed the sale was over:confused:
I also remember the words of my friends, but I would rather have enemies than friends like you :p

:p would like to make it known that ZubeZubes avvy is a DHN, she's not dancing :o

The majority of stuff in the sale at the Leeds branch was tat.

Did manage to get some trainers though for £10, noticed quite a few of the same pairs on ebay starting at £20, strange coincidence there.

Went into my town centre store and got a few bits but the traders were there, grabing anything with a designer name, skiwear and almost all of the handbags!!
I will watch with interest what ends up on ebay.

  • Well, since I started this thread I've tried several local TK Maxx stores over the last week while on my travels and here's the verdict....
Leicester: last Friday they had tons of stuff left but still fairly pricey - although I did get a Katharine Hamnett cardigan for £8
Thurmaston: last Saturday they had quite a lot of stuff still but not quite reached the giveaway level -however I got an Amplified 'Run DMC' t-shirt for £2
Rugby: Tried the store tonight, they had very little left (lots of broken photo frames and chipped plates) but I did get a Sugar Bebe dress for £2, a nice 70s-esque floppy hat for £1 and a Billabong scarf for 70p. Not much left otherwise.

I might pop in to Leicester again for the final day but doubt I'll get the fantastic 30p bargains I got last year. Thanks for all the responses - good luck!

I agree, there is either less stuff in final clearance or (I suspect) more people know about it!!!
I have visited several in the last few days and done ok.
    Best buys? Diesel t shirt 70p, pringle silk dress £7, Various shoes £2 and £3, towelling robe(FWM) £3, assorted small evening bags 50p-£2, diesel jacket(RRP £240) £3, Tirdy jacket(feather filled) £2, badgley mischa dress(was £129 in TK) £8.

Bought loads of "rubbish"(as my daughter calls it) to "fix" like a lipsy dress for 30p(needs stitched) and bags with broken catches for 30p.

    Role on September!!!

  • My mum bought a rug from TK Maxx today, it doesn't match any of our furniture but she said it was too good a bargain to miss:rolleyes:
Graduated shades of grey, RRP-£299.00, TK MAXX original price-£99.00.
    Reduced to *drumroll* £5.00:rotfl:
  • Went to the Cheltenham store this morning and picked up loads of bargains including:

Betty Jackson Cardigan (RRP £149) £1
    Betty Jackson Bra 70p
    Pair of shoes £1
    Firetrap Belt (RRP £40) £1
    Pringle Beanie Hat 30p

  • Went into TK Maxx in Uxbridge today and they were reducing all of the clearance items to 30p, I admit I bought lots of bits for me and DH (not ebay)

The ultimate bargain was a jacket with an rrp of £229.00, and a TK Maxx price of £99.99 - 30p

Not sure if all branches were doing the same as I was chatting to one of the staff in Hatfield who said that not all final clearance would be 30p

Having looked more closely when I got home the RRP of the items with a label was £1150.97, I actually spent £15.90

Went on Friday to my local store (Doncaster) and bought some Christmas items £3.00 reduced from £10.00...was really happy.

Visited another TK Maxx store today (Leeds) and saw the same christmas items full price. I took one of the items to the tills to check the price, told them I'd bought the same thing in Doncaster for £3.00 day before. They asked the manager and came back and told me it was still full price £10.00??? Bizzarre?!
