Do I have any grounds for appeal

Do you ever get the feeling we are flogging a dead horse here though? Not a lot of belief that these are beatable is there!!!!
At least folk are asking - I have the feeling that many parking contractors are relying on a great deal of public inertia/unwillingness to rock the boat & the more who successfully appeal could undermine this.
Then I read something like this & see red:

BTW, do you know if Edinburgh Council tickets are compliant? I have a feeling this may have been adressed some time back but maybe not?0 -

I think I vaguely recall you may be right about a past issue. Nothing noted that I'm aware of in the last six months or so. Can't be definite though.
Not a great deal of cases crop up compared to say Glasgow and most are signage issues I think I recall.

You should take that over to the very impressive 'Greatscot' on PePiPoo in case he hasn't seen it.
Hero of Aberdeen and now at Glasgow's throat!0 -
I'm not on pepipoo so if you want to link it over, please do.

The Edinburgh thing is probably academic anyway as the person concerned got panicky & paid-up when their first challenge was rebuffed. It was a very obviously broken down motorbike & they had the presence of mind to get photos plus there were witnesses. Don't think they will ever willingly go back to Edinburgh again now.
I don't have a copy of their ticket but do have the response.

Neil - you obviously 'know your onions' when it comes to when tickets from councils are compliant or not and it seems like quite a lot of PCNs have errors on.
Surely people from various councils parking departments must have a nosy on boards like this and the 'Poo' site especially when they have to overturn tickets with errors on them. Do these guys not change the PCNs to get rid of the errors? Are you not paranoid that you're being watched by these sorts?

Interesting question!
For one particular Council I have some evidence that docs were changed as a result of my forum posts. The erroneous ones only existed for two months or less - so pretty sharp reaction. (by coincidence it was my own Council! LOL)
It's a double edged sword though. I actually support parking enforcement but i want it to be done legally, accurately and fairly and don't even start me on why I think that isn't the current case - let alone the docs.
If i say that - then I have to agree that if they correct them it is a good thing in the long run. Maybe they should pay me a consultancy fee though! LOL
Most, that we've known have been non-compliant for ages - just keep going.
Many of those Councils are sometimes successful at Adjudication - BUT - never, as far as I know when those compliance issues are raised. When that happens, IME. they didge Adjudication and surrender - mostly at the last minute. people really need to note that - like the OP here who so far just seems rude!
One reason they continue with illegal docs is maybe because of people like the one mentioned above. They are frightened of the possibility of retrospective claims.
This is a very real possibility. One London Borough repaid £400K in penalties issued on a non compliant box junction after pressure from one good campaigner.
For the man mentioned above, i understand no less than £2.65 million was refunded as a result of his work in one city.
(and yeah - I'm working on my own ones! LOL).0
